A few months later...
*Brendon's POV*
Time: 7:30 PM
Date: Sunday, Oct. 29th, 2019I stretched, standing up from my desk where I'd been grading papers the whole night.
I walked over to the mirror and looked in it.
What I saw was a 31 year old man with swept back caramel brown hair and eyes of the same color. He wore a black blazer with a black button up shirt and black pants.
I nodded and almost walked away from the mirror, when I noticed something on my desk beside my black and gold ballpoint pen.
I turned around and walked over to the object and picked it up.
I froze and nearly dropped it.
The object was black and golden with a wreath of gold around a golden skull.
In other words, I held The Devil's Key from the Say Amen Saturday Night music video.
I thought, I thought this, this was a prop that, that-
My train of thought was cut short by a shadow that rose up from the skull in the key. The shadow took shape and I nearly fainted.
It was the demon that I'd played in the Emperor's New Clothes music video.
"Hi, how are you, Brendon?" The demon-shadow asked.
I could only squeak.
"C'mon please answer me. Don't be a total wuss."
I got mad.
"Now first things first, Demon." I growled. "Don't call me a wuss 'cause I am not one. Second, why are you here? I did not ask for your company, nor do I need it."
I was furious. What right did he have barging in here, violating my privacy. And while I was working, no doubt!
"Okay, okay I won't call you a wuss. And why I'm here, is because, well, you need a distraction from all this...other stuff." He stated, gesturing to my desk.
"Why not a night out, hmm?" You'll loosen up and have fun. Trust, me. You need it. Bad."
It didn't take me long to decide.
"No. If I go out there, word of my actions might spread and we both know who will come out of his little cave."
The shadow slumped in defeat.
"Fine. I understand. But I will leave you the key, just in case you need it."
And with that, he dissapeared, leaving me with The Devil's Key.
I shrugged and put it on and walked back to my desk to finish grading. I froze halfway. I felt...really weird.
And when I say weird, I mean weird.
I suddenly let out a screech of pain and collapsed to the floor.
Wh-what's happening? I thought, in panic.
I let out another screech.
And then, the pain stopped. It was the oddest thing I'd ever experienced.
I picked myself off of the floor, went over to my desk and began to grade homework.
Everything seemed normal, but nothing was ever normal.
Just like the key around my neck....
