You where exploring the halls, none questioned you as you walked around, looking through doorways and down passages, going deeper and deeper, soon you found yourself lost. There was none around at all.
You decide to walk further down the hallway until you see a dead end of a door. The hall was silent so you decide to open the door, peaking your head round it.
The room was a large library, manuscripts and books where on every wall. Thranduil sat, a scroll in his hand at desk, lit by candle light.
You quickly shut the door, not waiting to disturb him and walk back along the corridor.
You hear the door opening and thranduil coming up behind you.
'(y/n)?' he asks.
You turn and smile 'I'm sorry I disturbed you I was just looking round' you say, feeling a little guilty.
'No, no' he said 'Come, I will show you the library' he says.
You nod and walk back to the door, entering. He shows you round the library, it was larger than you thought, small passage ways branching off the main room, taking you to small alcoves of parchments. There where two floors to the main hall, winding staircases going high into the roof and reaching the platforms above. The whole room smelt of book and old parchment and it was lit by candles and precious stones which reflected the light.
'This is incredible' you say in wonder.
Thranduil smiles and sits on one of benches. You sit with him as you gaze up at the room.
He hands you a book. It had an ornate cover and in golden words wrote "The history of middle earth, part 1".
'your father mentioned that you where interested in history' Thranduil said, 'I thought you could take this back with you and next year or even sooner you can return and get the next one'
'You are so kind' you say, smiling up at him. He nods.
'Oh, it's time for the feast to begin' he said cheerfully, standing and walking towards the door. You follow him as you walk with him out of the gates with other elves into the forest, there a fire smoldered in the centre of the circle and tables set up, Thranduil ushered you to sit next him on his left, your father sitting next to you.
