Chapter 1 - Beginning of the End

Shoutmon POV.
I stormed around the corner in the village, followed by Gumdramon chasing behind angerly.
"WHY DO YOU NEVER LISTEN TO ME?! "
"Why do you never listen to me?" I retorted.
"I'M BEING SERIOUS! " he lashed out. "I'm not a child anymore!"
"Yea I've noticed."
At this point I was turned around looking at him. "Yet I'm still wondering when you'll stop acting like one. "
Gumdramon growled angerly.
"Just stop worrying about me all the time! I can take care of myself now!"
I laughed.
"Please, Gumdramon. Rushing into a fight isn't 'taking care of yourself'." I growled, looking down at him.
"It's starting a fight. Like a child."
Gumdramon whimpered, then shook
himself and growled back at me.
"You don't scare me anymore, Ousama! Not since I defeated Quartzmon. 'Cause I learned that I'm better than you now! SO I DON'T NEED YOUR PROTECTION ANYMORE! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! "

By the time he was finished, I was looking at something behind him. It was... what looked like a glob of inky data slowly moving toward-
I ran in front of Gumdramon to protect him from whatever it was.
"Wh... Hey! I was talking to you! We're you even listening?!"
He, too, turned around and noticed the global of data.
"Ew! What is that thing?!"
The global suddenly jumped up and formed into a monster, making both me and Gumdramon jump back with a yelp.
Gumdramon suddenly launched forward, hitting it repeatedly with his tail hammer.
"Hey! What are you doing?!" I exclaimed.
"It's a threat that must be destroyed!" He yelled back.
"Yea, but you know as much as I do about that thing! It might be too strong for you!"
"STOP WORRYING ABOUT ME!" he snapped. "Let me take care of this-"
Gumdramon yelped as it swung at him with an inky claw.
It's teeth bared threateningly in its ruined face.
"Hey, easy now big fella..." I tried to reason as we were backed into a corner.
Then the monster lunged, reaching out to grab Gumdramon.
I panicked.
"NO!" I shrieked as I pushed Gumdramon out of the way and the monster grabbed me instead. "OUSAMA!!!" was the last thing I heard before it carried me away.
