Chapter 4 - It's a Long Story...

Shoutmon POV.
"Well...?" I said, breaking the silence that came after Y/n's statement.
"Well... It's kinda hard to explain.."
"It's okay, we've got all afternoon." I stated.
Y/n looked down neveously.
"You'd never believe me if I told you this, but..."
"Yes?"
"I'm from another world."
I hesitated.
"... You mean from, like, Earth.. Right?"
"No, my world is far away from Earth and its digital world."
I sat there for a good moment processing Y/n's statement.
Come on. Tell me she was playing with me here. Another world?! That's crazy talk! But unfortunately by the looks of the situation, it might be true crazy talk. These... monster blob thingies, were like nothing I've seen before. It could be possible they truely were from another world. And as for Y/n... she kinda is a pretty unique Digimon now I think about it...
"S-sorry.. " Y/n's voice broke through my thoughts. "I know you don't really believe me... And I know it sounds pretty far-fetched, but I'm telling the truth."
I sighed. "Can you just please tell me about the blob-thingies?"
"Okay," She started, "but first, they are called Eaters."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because, they'll eat any data they can get their claws on, whether it be alive or not."
"You mean that thing was about to eat me just now?!" I panicked.
"Well... Yes."
"Oh my God..." I stated breathlessly.
I shook my head to clear the dark thoughts coming to my mind.
"Well, do you know anything else about them?"
"Yes, they have the ability to turn a Digimon into one of them, which means we possibly were fighting an actual other Digimon. And also..."
"Also?"
"... It's getting late." Y/n stated, changing the subject. "Shouldn't we head back? " Part of me wanted to jump on her about what she was gonna say earlier, but when I looked at the sky outside she was right. The sun was beginning to sink below the horizon.
"Right! Let's head back to the village. And YOU!" I pointed suddenly at Gumdramon, who has been quiet the entire time. He jumped neveously.
"I'd like to have a talk with you when I get back."
