"Sis, is that K?"
"K who?"
"K Lu of The9"
"Lu Keran? I don't think s-- oh shit. It's her!"
"Shhh keep your voice down!"
Uhh yeah right. It's me, Lu Keran. Got used to hearing people murmuring around me wherever I go. Some just kept staring at me discreetly and talked about me just like this moment. But most of the time they talked to me while taking photos and videos. I don't get surprised anymore whenever I see posts about me buying my favorite fruit juices at a small convenience store or just having my morning jog.
I've been living this kind of life for the past 5 years after The9's disbandment.
I used to think that once we get disbanded I'd be with Fanxy red, my original group, again but our company decided not to because during my 18 months with The9, my fellow Fanxy red members had sturdy solo careers already. So just like them, I have to go solo.
It was hard going solo especially at the beginning. I had to do things on my own. I had to perform on stage alone. I had to do guestings alone. I had to shop for my things alone. I had to record songs alone. I had to do dance covers alone. But as time passed by I eventually got used to it.
I have my own spotlight now. I have recorded two albums, the next one is in process already and I hope that I'll be able to release it two months from now. I get invites to perform on different chinese variety shows and concerts. Just about a year ago, me and my Fanxy red co-members held a joint concert in Beijing not as Fanxy red girl group but as a four solo artists collaboration. I held meet and greets as well in my hometown Nanjing every now and then. I also have several endorsements of designer clothing and make up brands. I even have my own fragrance line called 'Lu Princess'. This is a dream come true for a perfume enthusiast like me.
Wouldn't have achieved everything that I have without the support of my croissants. Wherever I perform I would always see them holding my banners and cheering for me. My songs are always on top of the charts and my albums are always sold out. There was a time when I was shopping at a mall, fans suddenly showed up and gave me gifts and fan letters. When I noticed that they were catching their breaths, I asked them why they seem so tired. They said that it's because they ran as fast as they could to see me when someone posted on weibo that I was there at the mall. Aww. My croissants are the best fans istg. I appreciate their efforts and everything they gave me. It's overwhelming. My room is full of their gifts and fan letters. I also have a hard drive full of fan arts. All are sooo cute. I even change my wallpapers every other day to make each of their work as my wallpaper. My favorite is the purple one with pigs on it. Are they implying that I look like a pig tho? Hmmm.
The murmers stopped only when I went to the counter to pay.
"4 dollars only. Oh-- Lu Keran?" the cashier said.
"Uh yeah. Hi" I said. I can't help but smile at her. She's so cute trying to stop herself from smiling too much when she saw me. Cute. So cute.
I was about to hand her my payment when I heard a familiar voice singing on tv.
🎶
Thinking about the days we spent together
We were living the dream, making the most out of everything
🎶I immediately turned my gaze to the tv.
🎶
Those sleepless nights were the best memories of us
Together we do the things we love to do
Together we face everything that comes our way
🎶
