"How is this a good idea?" Jinyoung furrowed his eyebrows, a disgusted face plastered on him.
Haewon tried to explain the project that she was assigned to her friends and convince them to participate. Mark and her had discussed that the best way for this to go down is to make a groupchat and hangout in person every few days. Even though Hyunjin and Mirae seemed, well, fond of the idea, Jinyoung definitely wasn't.
"Look, me and Mark already talked about this. It's only going to be a month, Jin," Haewon was begging at this point. Definitely not understanding his resentment.
"I know, but can't you be partners with someone else? Why'd you agree to him?" he shivered at the thought of Mark and Haewon together. It made Jinyoung sick to his stomach.
"I don't know, Jin, he asked and everyone else already had partners. Just help me get this over with, please?" Haewon had her head down with her hands clasped together, begging him.
Bitterly, Jinyoung agreed. This caused Haewon to lift her hands up in victory, waving them. He laughed at the sight of the estatic girl and patted her head.
This is temporary. After a month, everything will go back to normal. Jinyoung had assured himself. He wasn't fond of new people. He didn't want to extend his friend group, it felt like a burden. Just thinking of having to start a conversation and introductions sent chills down his spine.
Laughter amongst his friends, broke him out of his thoughts. Jinyoung felt relaxed seeing his friends happy. He quickly joined the conversation, all of them enjoying themselves for the rest of morning before classes.
"You have got to be kidding me, right?"
"I don't see why that's such a big deal? It's only for a month, Taeyong," Mark was about fed up with him. He didn't get why Taeyong was so against it. Was he still mad at Haewon? That can't be, he doesn't hold grudges. He thought.
"Don't you get it? We are the elitist in this goddamn broken ass town. We don't just associate ourselves with other people below us," Taeyong motioned his hand out to emphasize his point, "Besides the grumpy, bobble headed girl would get bullied by those raging fangirls."
"Taeyong, you sound like an asshole," Mark was heated now and definitely didn't like the way Taeyong was talking about Haewon, "I don't care about what you think or this stupid 'elitist' image. We are doing this project no matter what. And she has a name."
Taeyong scoffed, rolling his eyes at the younger boy. As much as he wanted to protest, he didn't want Mark to fail the stupid project. He mumbled a short 'fine' before going on to his phone.
Mark let out a small sigh of frustration mixed with relief. He headed out of the area to his next class.
