Recap

The new student finally took her gaze off the floor and lifted her head a bit. Damian's teacher smiled and gestured at the girl. "Class, this is our new student." He turned his head towards the girl and offered her a smile. "Why don't you introduce yourself to the class?" The girl nodded and looked forward towards the rows of desks before her. She gave a small wave before speaking. Her voice was shaky and heavily accented. You could tell English was not her first language.

"Hi everyone, my name is Lila Rossi, and I just moved here from Paris, France."

3rd Person POV:

Staring at the plethora of students before her, the school's newest addition seemed to shrink in on herself.

Mme. Bisset, the school secretary, had walked in behind her, gently placed a hand on her shoulder. She leaned over and stated in a hushed voice, "Don't worry Marinette, It'll all be fine." With that, Mme. Bisset straightened up, waved to the teacher and the students, and walked out of the classroom.

Marinette's homeroom teacher was a woman who looked to be around the same age as Mme. Bisset; that is to say, in her mid-thirties. She had dark wavy chocolate brown hair that was kept out of her face by golden barrettes. Her skin was a gorgeous shade of dark espresso brown. She was wearing a white fitted long sleeve blouse with a knee-length black pencil skirt, and grey flats.

She smiled kindly at Marinette and introduced herself. "Bienvenue Marinette. I'm Madame Dubois, and I'll be your homeroom teacher. Why don't you give a quick introduction to the class before you take your seat."

Marinette gave a small nod to her new teacher before turning to her class. "Hi everyone! I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng, just a normal girl, with a normal life. I transferred here from Collège Françoise Dupont because my parents are opening a second location for their bakery, Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie."

Everyone in the class greeted her, whether it be with a wave, a bob of their head, or a verbal acknowledgment. The class's actions made Marinette smile. They all seemed genuinely interested in getting to know her.

She hadn't felt this acknowledged in a long time. Even when her old classmates did pay attention to her, it was with wary looks and poorly covered up glares. She was brought out of her reminiscing when the teacher called her name.

"Marinette, why don't you take a seat next to Jade. Jade, would you please raise your hand?" In the middle of the left side of the class, a girl raised her hand. "Thank you, Jade." Walking towards her new desk, Marinette studied her seat partner.

She had an average build and was wearing dark blue ripped jeans with a plain black t-shirt. Her hair reached a little bit above her shoulders. She had black roots, but then it faded into a dark purple, then to violet, with light lavender tips. She had fair skin and was currently smiling at Marinette.

Jade waited for her to sit down and settle in before formally introducing herself. "Bienvenue Marinette, I'm Jade Laurent, nice to meet you." Jade extends her hand and Marinette gladly shakes it.

"All right class, let us get started. Don't worry, you can all introduce yourselves to Marinette in your free time." Mme. Dubois announced.
