Chapter 22

(Harry's POV)

It's been a week since Hunter and I met at the recording studio and became a couple. Stuff has been pretty uneventful to be fair, we just hang out and do cute couple-y things together after I leave school. I've been writing a song for him too, as he did for me, but it's not coming out that well, so maybe I'll take another approach.

As much as I'd like to say this is a regular Tuesday morning though, I simply can't do that. Why? Because this time next week, I'll be in front of the whole year on the CR debate with Niall by my side, both talking about how being gay is 'wrong', 'sinful', 'against god' and, my favourite, 'disgusting'.

"Um, hello there." I hear a low girly voice talk as a poke on my shoulder awoke me from my thoughts. "Harry, is everything okay?"

I look up and blink three times to clear my vision. "Oh Katherine, hello. Do you need anything?" I ask politely. I don't want to let out my stress on Katherine, after all. We might not talk a lot, but she's a nice girl.

"Well you were very... pensive... And I thought I'd come over here and ask if you were alright?" she asks

I smile and shake my head "No, nothing at all, I'm perfectly fine! Thanks for worrying though. Very sweet of you." 

"Oh, it's fine. No need to thank me... Glad to know you're ok. Um... can I ask you something?" 

I tilted my head to the side and let out a quick laugh as I replied "Yeah, sure! Ask away!"

"The CR project is next week..." she said as my smile quickly disappeared "...and I just wanna know if you have everything ready, you know? With the boy from the other class. You two haven't even looked at each other since the camping trip" she noted truthfully, we have been avoiding each other at all costs. At least, I've been doing that...

"Well, we kind of had a... um... we're not really on good terms right now." I explain. "Not gonna go into too much detail, but he backstabbed me." 

"Oh, sounds... complicated. Your CR grade depends on this though, you two better get sorted out, and quickly. How you do on that stage will basically decide if our year fails CR or not."

"Huh!?"

"Your performance is how both teams' research are evaluated. If you do badly, Mrs. Alvord might just see the research as insufficient and therefore give everyone in the whole year an F" she explains, using the long words Katherine is known for.

"Wait a second, what?! That's not fair for us or the others! What if we fail??" I ask, completely stressed out by the news. If we fuck this up, everyone will fail and hate us! We'll have no one else but each other, and there's no way in hell I'm letting that happen.

"Well basically, everyone will fail. And your social life is going down the drain." she scratches the back of her head as she regrets her brutal honesty. Katherine is right, though. I have to make a truce with Niall. We have to finish the project.

"You what??" the fake blond boy asked 

"I wanna forget about everything that happened last week at the camp. For a while anyway." I say dryly. After a week of avoiding him, me coming to talk to him must come as a shock to say the least.

"Because of the CR project?" he confirms, even though I explained everything before. "I... I guess so. But Harry,now that we get the chance to talk, I, umm...  I'm s-"
