A Night To Charish

And poor kid was right.

The sight Will had witnessed left him startled and confused during his trip back to the infirmary. He didn't think Percy or Jason would be into boys, he probably would've flirted with Percy if he had known. Catching them kissing was a strange sight and a strange way to find out about them. Out of respect, of course, he wasn't going to tell even Nico what he had seen. "Better to not dwell on it forever... I'll just continue to weird myself out that way..." Will let out a sigh, finally disappearing into the infirmary.

Meanwhile, Percy and Jason were left alone at the same place. They both resorted to just sitting close and talking. Well, Jason was doing the talking. The current situation was still seeping in for Percy. Had they just nearly kissed? Yes...They had. It got his mind reeling. what would it be like to kiss another guy? Percy had only ever kissed his mother and Annabeth. Was a guy any different from a girl's kiss? Well Percy could find out, if he absolutely wanted to. And he did. He really wanted to see what it felt like. Slowly, he sat up and looked towards him, biting his lip gently whilst his pulse began to speed up, making his heart beat behind his ears as he clung to blind stupidity or courage... It's Percy, is there a difference?

Jason was still going on about some trainging tactics he had been trying to master, and ways he planned to spice up his grand entrances for battles. Percy didn't care for those at the moment. He was busy training his sights on the blond's mouth. Percy leaning closer to the blond brought Jason's attention towards the Greek, then it happened. It was very much unexpected to him. After Will had caught them during the first attempt, he about gave up on kissing the raven haired boy for the night. But alas, Percy seemed to be intent on getting a kiss. The odd fascination and hunger swimming in the depths of those pretty sea green orbs trained on his lips made Jason's breath catch just faintly. Then, Percy closed the distance.

It wasn't the same, Percy decided; from the instant his lips met Jason's he could decipher that. He wasn't about to compare this to Annabeth... no. That felt like an injustice to him. Percy enjoyed this just a bit more. He couldn't deal with the near unbearable fluttering in his stomach, however. It would have been better if Percy felt more grounded This all happened within a few seconds. Just as sudden as it happened, it was done. Jason sat back slowly, eyes half lidded as he savoured the events that just occured. Percy's breath tickled his cheek, making him smile ever so faintly before he sat back more, getting a look at the black haired boy's properly flushed cheeks. To see the hero in this state of vulnerability was adorable.

"Uhm... It's getting late, Sparky," came Jackson's soft voice. Jason answered with a nod, sky blue eyes still trained on the sea. "We should go before the harpies make us a meal." So they stood, Jason leadig the way out of the training arena. For a majority of the walk, nothing was said.

Percy's mind was left spinning. He was walking, but was he paying attention? No. This was revolutionary to him. Ok, that may be an overstatement, but he was very confused. Would this make him bisexual? He still liked girls -at least he thought- but that kiss with Jason and the feelings he felt were definetly something else. A completely straight guy wouldn't start their agreement that they had created in the first place. In the distance, he could here the faint singing from the other campers beside the fire.

"It's not as late as we thought," came Jason's voice, "Do you want to join them?" The offer left Percy smiling before he nodded eagerly, becoming grounded to what we happening now and not to the possibilities of his sexual orientation. "Yeah... Yes. A few horribly sung Campfire songs."

Jason gave a breathy laugh, his hand slipping into Percy's before he gently tugged him towards the fire. The feel of his rough fingers against Percy's hand made him smile, his heart fluttering slightly as the blond led them towards the fire.

Cricket chirping steadily was replaced with the crackle of the fire and the happy chatter of other campers. No Will to be found. He felt bad for the kid, making a mental note to himself to apologise to him tomorrow. He didn't know how bad it would affect Will.

Passing the last cabin, Jason's hand slipped from Percy's, leaving his hand feeling cold. The heat if the fire danced against Percy's skin, leaving a pleasant glow against his and Jason's skin. He couldn't remember wanting to be at the fire more than what he did in that moment.

A few Apollo campers were singing in near perfect harmony, joined with some of Aphrodite's girls. They weren't that bat, especially since Will's terrible singing didn't accompany it.

Meekly, Percy and Jason took their seats beside a familiar olive skinned boy, Nico. The son of Hades didn't seem to happy to have someone beside him until he saw Percy, the slight sneer he had fell and he shifted a bit.

Nico held a stick close to the fire, not one but two marshmallows burnt to a black coal and still on fire. "What'd they do to you?" Jason asked, frowning a bit at the ruined marshmallows.

"Too sweet." Answered Nico, who finally pulled away the burning, melting orbs and blowing them out. "charcoal makes it withstandable." With a smirk, the Italian ate one of the still steaming sweets.

Percy rolled his eyes as Jason laughed a bit, shaking his head. "Enjoy those burning hunks of coal." Jason told him, getting comfortable.

For a moment, the son of Hades sighed happily and ate the marshmallows, looking displeased at the singers. Finally, he looked at the two. "So what did you do to Will? He looked very startled leaving archery lessons today."

Percy cleared his throat, staring into the beautiful fire for a moment as Jason shrugged. "We didn't do anything to Will." Jason lied, passing along the bag of marshmallows that the camper next to him had offered. Percy kept his mouth shut as he watched Jason smoothly pull off the lie, and Nico bought it.

So they spent the rest of the young night eating charred sweets and melted messy chocolates and singing along with the other terrible singers. It was a very wonderful night for sure, one Percy wished he could have all the time.
