Side effects

Shaken

* Now entering 013: Black Canary* The Computer announced.

Wally looked out the window as the sun slowly begain rising  "huh...I thought she was coming later"

"I was." She answered from the hall "But Martian called me, said you guys had another round of side effects, so I wanted to check on you"

"We're fine." Artemis said, "We can survive some bad dreams."

"From what Martian told me they might be more than that. but if you'd rather figure it out on you're own be my guest.."
Black canary nodded towards the doors

The rest of the team stared over at Artemis until she cast a long sigh

"Fine...Whatever."

Black canary turned to face them "Now that that's settled.  .." She glanced around the hall " Batman isn't here is he?"

"Aster! " Robin exclaimed as He quickly jumped over the back of the couch and headed down halls to the mission rooms computer.
Any updates. The only Rule of the all-nighter. Report with any updates.  And now he'd probably be the last member of the justice league to find out...
if he didn't already hear it from another member.

He quickly called Bruce who answered from the Batcave

Robin explained everything while Bruce kept typing away hardly noticing him, He was probably still on a case file, only after he mentioned Martain coming did he look up from the bat computer's screen

" I should be able to arrive later, Right after the board meeting that is." He looked over at the clock "wait  to tell Martian the details until I arrive." 

"Will do," He replied as Bruce nodded before signing off.

He took a few seconds to pace around the room, shaking off the nightmare and preparing for the team's discussion.
He knew they would all have to discuss the failed mission together eventually, but he was hoping to hold it off for at least another week...
hoping the nightmares could have worn off first... He was pretty sure the whole team was trying to wait for the same reason.
after another small lap around the room he sighed in acceptance before opening the doors and  walking back towards the living room,
only slowing when he heard his name mentioned in conversation

" Robin on the other hand.." Artemis's voice echoed
"I think He's upset because he was the leader when the rest of the team died...He still seems pretty shaken whenever someone mentions anyone's
  death from the nightmares. Haven't you noticed he won't say anything about it?"

" And You aren't?" M'gann quickly asked

"We're all "still shaken" hence the "group" nightmares." Wally protested with a glare

"I'm not saying we  aren't I'm just saying that the four of you seem to have a lot more side effects than me and Kaldur ."

"Or maybe you guys are just better at pretending," Conner added to the rest of the teams surprise

Robin pushed himself in the shadows of the door.
Apparently they had started the discussion without him..he started to regret coming back so soon.
but as the rest of the team started to  argue again, Robin entered hoping to slip in threw the chaos, but they all turned to look at him

"Batman will be here later, he wants to be updated when Martian arrives."

"Very good, Please join us." Black canary said while placing her hand on her temple, "I want to have a group discussion today..." she nodded to a space on the couch next to wally

Robin took it while glancing over at Artemis who merely shrugged, not seeming to care whether he had heard her comment. Wally patted his shoulder in support which only made him more aggravated.

He wasn't the only one "Still shaken"

At least he had managed to talk to everyone all week,  M'gann only started yesterday,
He didn't stomp around the base all week like Conner,
And maybe he didn't pretend to be extra happy like Wally had but at least he didn't hide behind snarky comments like Artemis did.

Still shaken..

He knew She was more shaken then she let on.
They all were, but none of them wanted to admit it, especially to each other.
They may be teammates, friends even.. but admitting how they felt...he doubted anyone would say anything heartfelt while the others were listening.
They were More likely to continue to bickering with others, causing more fights then resolved feelings.
Black Canary had her work cut out for her...

She had moved her chair to sit in front of the television, allowing her to look at them all in turn as she began talking

"All right, let's be honest. You're a team. These people sitting around you are your teammates. your allies, and your most trusted friends.
You work together every day, so be honest. If you want to get past these side-effects.. it's the only way…now, who wants to speak first."

She looked over at Artemis who quickly watched the floor, They all shifted uncomfortably looking anywhere to escape the gaze of Black  Canary as the Team session began...
