Annabeth’s POV

Annabeth sighed, staring at the mass of paper in front of her. She never dreamed that being a superhero would require so much paperwork.

But ever since the Joker attack, every newspaper and news channel was clamoring about them. Hell, there were even fashion magazines criticizing their suits! Annabeth grinned, recalling how angry Piper had been about that.

Her smile faded, remembering why they had done all this in the first place.

For Sally.

Annabeth missed her. Sally Jackson had been the mom she never had, more of a mother than Helen or Athena had ever been. And losing her hurt.

Unlike Percy, Annabeth preferred to mourn quietly, not wanting to show any signs of weakness. She had jumped at the chance to avenge Sally through the superhero team.

But now, everything was falling apart.

The media was clamoring for them to be captured. The majority was saying that they were a menace. A threat to the country and the people.

And well-known superheroes like Superhero and Flash were being asked to comment. Although neither flat out said so, it was clear that they didn’t like this new superhero team, which only made everything worse.

Annabeth groaned and dropped her head into her hands. She didn’t know what to do.

And then it came to her.

Rushing outside, she procured a drachma and threw it into a rainbow. A startled face appeared in the mist.

“Reyna,” Annabeth said. “I need your help.”

"Don't kill me! The next chapters coming soon...or not. It's up to the Fates (and my willpower) to decide!"
