Black butterfly: New beginnings
Chapter 2: Some beginnings are better than others…
School.
It wasn't my favorite topic nor was it my favorite place to spend a nice day like today. It was early spring, around the time where students would be moving up a grade and where many would be starting high school. This was the time of the year where things seem fresh and new, and the sky crystal blue. But the thing that made today such a drag was it was first day of school, for me at least, and everyone else started two weeks ago.
After that night with my former 'friends', not only was I bed ridden for nearly 3 weeks for having fractures in my spine, arms, and legs and having a mild concussion, luckily, I was found by the police in time and I was put on some bullshit city restriction for being involved in gang related crimes. I know I should be more thankful of the police since they were the ones who practically saved me from the ass beating I had taken. But the next day I woke up with blacks eyes, back pain, and a raging head to only top it off with my arm handcuffed to a hospital bed while officers surrounding my grandfather and me, asking all different kinds of questions! Like really? Was the handcuffing even necessary? Like where did they think I would go?
This was why I hated the police, they were nothing but a bunch of pricks that didn't even do their jobs right. Even the officer who was working on my case, He was an absolute A-hole. He was some old fart who seriously had attitude issues. Every time I saw him he just gave me the most dirties look like I chose his life career. You would think they would show me a little bit of kindness after going through that beating but there was none. But who's really to blame, huh? I guess that's what I get for being a delinquent.
Now that I had (somewhat) healed, 3 weeks later, I was now ready to start school and I seriously didn't what to go. Not only was a two weeks late and had to settle in with students who already settled into school and was used to everything, I had to get use to this new school. I barely went to class in middle school. But school was a hell of a lot better than sharing a cell with murderers and if I don't go to school every day and on time, which will be exactly what I'll be doing.
I had already readied myself this morning. I had woken up in a bit of a good mood, I guess. I had rested well for these past 3 weeks and I was honestly tired of staying in the house. When I was finished putting on the uniform that I was required to wear for school I looked in the mirror and felt so weird looking at myself.
The uniform was rather basic with the black blazer with the school logo on the left chest pocket. The black skirt was rather short and the red necktie was like the most difficult part. I literally had to Google how to tie a tie. It's not like I have any brothers or father around to teach me anything like that. Well, there was my grandfather but I never ever seen him in anything more than a traditional Japanese Yukata. Rarely, you see him wearing a shirt and jeans but that was only on baseball days.
Speaking of my grandfather, as soon as I was about to leave out the room, my grandfather knocked on my door and I quickly let him in.
"I was just about to leave." I said. Just as I mentioned, he was wearing his grey Yukata with pictures of white flowers all around it. My grandfather didn't look that old either. He was in his late fifties but for an old man he was husky but clearly it was all muscles. I think that he use to be a body builder when he was younger but whenever I ask him if he was one he just laugh at the question and say he use to play sports as a kid, Which I call bullshit. There is no way.
He smiled at me, his grey bearded face looking friendly and pleasant at usual, like a friendly bear. "I was just making sure." He said stepping into my room, "You know what the officer said. No lateness or you'll be going against your restrictions."
