Her body felt heavy as it was dragged downwards...

Downwards? Or was it upwards?

She couldn't tell.

Where was right and wrong?

What was left and right?

It was all very confusing.

It was all happening in her mind.

Akai felt herself delve deeper into the soft shadowy mist of nightmares and dreams.

She dreamed.

She dreamed of a woman humming.

The woman was beautiful and had brilliant scarlet hair. The red haired woman was holding a child in her arms. The child had the same radiant red hair and blue eyes.

She was humming a lullaby to her child.

Her lovely child.

"I love you." The woman cooed as her child grabbed onto her finger.

"I love you."

"I love you."

"I love you."

"I love you."

Akai watched the scene.

Her fists curled at the woman's smile.

Bitterness filled her aching heart.

The woman was lying.

She didn't love her.

"I love you."

She didn't—she couldn't have.

"I love you."

Akai gritted her teeth and covered her ears, screaming to drown out the woman's voice. It didn't matter.
The voice penetrated through her hands and into her ears, ringing treacherously.

"I love you."

Lies!

"Shut up!" Akai hissed as the woman glanced up from her child and stared at her. "Shut up!"

The woman only smiled at Akai and stepped towards her.

"My baby...I love you."

Tears prickled her eyes as she turned away and screamed once more.

"SHUT UP!" She shrieked, "SHUT UP! STOP LYING! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! YOU CAN'T LOVE ME! IF YOU LOVED ME YOU WOULDN'T HAVE LEFT! DAMN YOU!"
