They cautiously walked together into a dark room. The curtains were drawn over the windows, plunging the room into almost complete darkness. However, they could still see a male sat on a chair and lying at his feet was Maya...

"Sherlock." a soft Irish accent filled the room. Sherlocks blood ran cold.
"Moriarty." Sherlock spat back.
"Did you miss me?" His eyes glinted manically causing Toby to step back in alarm.
"Of course" said Sherlock dryly. "How could I not?"
"Sarcasm" sung Moriarty gleefully.

"On to the more - interesting - conversation. Who is this young lady lying at my feet? And who is the young man? Have you replaced John Watson with a newer model?"
Sherlock glanced at Toby who was stood at his side.
"This is Toby. He's Maya's boyfriend. Maya is my daughter..."
Moriarty cackled again with a manic tone.
"A daughter- another interfering, idiotic Holmes I fear?"
"Very much so" Sherlock nodded and Toby glared at him.
"How did you ever have a girlfriend? Did you pay her?"
Sherlock didn't say a thing. He stared at Maya lying on the floor.
"Toby" Moriarty said "my name is Jim Moriarty. I. Am. Your. DOOM!"
Toby scowled looking as though he might laugh at the mans dramatic voice. He hardly imagined this man doing him any harm.
"Ever the drama-queen" tittered Sherlock. "Now give us back Maya."
"Nope" sung Moriarty again. "I think I'll keep her a bit longer. Maybe a week - month - or longer."
Toby gulped.
"Why her" he asked shakily. "Why Maya, why not me or anyone else in the world?"
"Because she matters" Moriarty answered cryptically
"To who?" Cut in Sherlock.
"To you Sherlock of course - who else? If she is your daughter as you seem to confirm then surely she matters to you."
Maya chose this moment to groan on the floor and open her eyes slowly.
"Maya" Toby called
"Toby?" She asked into the darkness
Sherlock spoke over them.
"She means very little to me. Do you not know me at all? Have I ever showed sentiment- I am not sentimental at all, do what you wish with her. It doesn't effect me."

Maya looked up from the ground at him. He could see that she was feeling hurt.

"Well if she is so unimportant, I guess we can just kill her." Moriarty began to realise that Sherlock didn't care enough about the girl at his feet to want to exchange his life for hers.

"Go right ahead. I told you she doesn't matter to me. Killing her would only help me out."

Maya let out a dry and fearful sob. How could Sherlock say all this? He had said he would try to be a good father. He must have been talking crap. She felt the usual anger boil inside her. The anger that was never shown and would never be shown.

"Hang on" said Toby. "You can't kill her."
"And why is that?" Said Moriarty not seeing how he could be stopped killing anyone he wanted to.
"I won't let you!"
Moriarty laughed again. "How is a stupid 18 year old going to defeat someone as intelligent as me?"
"You may be intelligent but you obviously don't know how to fight"...
