Chapter 1

Astrids POV

This morning my alarm woke me up. Yay! *sarcasm* first day of senior high school!!! Ugh! I decided to get dressed. I put on a red t-shirt and tucked it into my brown stripy skirt with skulls on it and black tights with comfy boots with the fluffy stuff on top. I grabbed my bag and ran downstairs I quickly ate my toast, brushed my teeth and hair then went outside to wait for the bus.

The bus arrived right in front of my face. The doors opened and I walked up the staris. People were whispering to each other and staring at me. I felt really embarrassed and found a seat and shoved my headphones in and turned up the music. Before I sat down there was a couple at the back and they were whisper at me. The boy had auburn hair and bright green emerald eyes. He was sitting next to a girl with bright red bouncy hair in ringlets and she was the one pointing and whispering.

Suddenly the boy with auburn hair sat next to me. I took out my headphones and paused the music. "Hi, I'm Hiccup Haddock son of the mayor of Berk." Said the boy who held out his hand.

"I'm Astrid Hofferson. My parents died when I was 12, so I took care of myself from then." I shook his hand and smiled. "Uh, sorry about my uh girlfriend." Hiccup said scratching the back of his neck. "It's fine. You guys don't really look like your meant for each other." I replied. "It's ok. I don't really like her but she thinks I'm her boyfriend so I just "pretend". He said using his fingers for quotation marks.

The bus stopped outside a high school called Berk Valley High. "Here. Do you want me to show you around?" Hiccup asked. "Sure. Why not?" I answered. He turned around and shouted to his friends at the back of the bus. "I'll catch up with you guys later!" Hiccup took hold of my hand and showed me around the school.
