Truth or Dare

"I swear to god if you don't pick up the phone Diane" I grumble to myself pacing back and forth in the bathroom

"Jesus Harper, have you seen the time" I hear her groan out in the other side

"shit, sorry Mal I forgot about the time difference" I say sheepishly

"Ugh, I'm up now so what was so important that I needed to be woken up for," She asks me

"Right well you know how I'm in London, I was meant to be staying at Jill's house but somehow she double-crossed me and now I'm staying with Georgia!" I whisper shout down the phone

"As in like crush Georgia!" Mal exclaims on the other end sounding very awake all of a sudden

"That Georgia exactly! I don't know what to do Mal, she's all for it but I don't want things to be awkward like we've spent two weeks with each other and now I'm suddenly sleeping in her house for two nights" I tell my friend

"Just think of this as a great way to get to know each other better, at camp it's hard because you're constantly moving, you've now got two days that the pair of you can spend in each others company," Mal says trying to find a good reasoning behind this idea

"yeah but the whole team are coming over tomorrow night for a party as such, there is no way spin the bottle or truth or dare isn't going to be played, " I almost laugh out already feeling the embarrassment

"Maybe they won't! Maybe they're not as immature as our lot and will just chat instead of doing stupid dares" She says

"Yeah right, I've got Lauren and Kiera coming, those two have been trying to get me and G together since day one" I sigh out

"You have to own it is it happens them, some give them the satisfaction of embarrassing you, " She tells me and I hum along taking in the advice

"What would I do without you hey" I sigh out with a small chuckle

"Probably end up making a complete fool out of yourself" She laughs back

"I miss you Mally," I tell her

"I miss you too, being at camp and not with you is just weird, we've been in the same team since U15s," She says and I smile to myself thinking about everything we did together

"We did everything together back then, remember that time we managed to trick coach into thinking we'd already done the drill" I laugh out

"We got in so much shit for that but it was worth it," She says proudly

"Thanks for the confidence boost Diane, but I best get back to the girls before they think I've got diarrhoea or something," I tell my friend

"Okay Harper, I'll speak to you later when it's not the middle of the night," Mal tells me and I say my goodbyes before putting my phone back into my pocket

There's no need to be stressed about this, all I'm doing is staying at my teammate's house before we head off to camp. It doesn't have to be weird or awkward at all.

After that pep talks to me, I head out the bathroom to where the others are all standing up from the table and grabbing their jackets.

"You okay Kate?" Steph asks me first

"Yeah I'm good, I was just replying to a few messages from friends asking if ingot here safely," I say lying to the captain slightly.

"Okay, I'm taking you back to Little G's now if that's alright," She tells me

"Sounds good to me," I say with a smile on my face.

I follow the older player back out to her car where Kiera and Georgia are already waiting. The four of us climb into the car taking the same seats as before and Steph drives off.
