CHAPTER TWO: We're All Bad People

HOSPITAL

"What the hell happened?" Mona asked Alison as the news story about Dana continued to play on the TV.

Alison looked around to make sure no one was around and that the door to the room was closed.

"Dylan, Caitlin, and Ava got into an accident...and they killed Dana," Alison said.

"They did what?!" Mona replied, almost jumping out of the bed.

"Mona, please. They need your help. I need your help."

Mona sighed, hating that she was covering up yet another hit and bury.

"Old habits die hard, I guess. What do I need to do?" Mona asked.

"Ava and Dana's cars are in the woods near Archer Road. They're pretty deep in there, though, so someone finding them won't be a problem. We need to have them destroyed. No murder weapon, no conviction," Alison replied.

"You think they're going to get caught?"

"Hopefully, no. But the girls and I almost did if it weren't for Mary, and I don't think any of their secret parents will come around and do the same."

"How is she? Mary?"

"Okay, considering the verdict."

"I can't believe they gave her a life sentence! They could've given her thirty years and it would've been the same."

Alison gave Mona a look.

"Sorry, was that insensitive?" Mona asked, realizing what she said.

"Doesn't matter. Can you get rid of the cars or not?"

"Luckily, my guy is in town for the weekend, so it shouldn't be a problem. Consider it handled."

30 MINUTES LATER

ALISON'S HOUSE

Alison had called the Perfectionists over to talk to them about Dana being declared missing.

"So Mona's going to help us?" Dylan asked Alison.

"Yeah. Why wouldn't she?" Alison replied.

"Covering up a murder usually crosses the line for a lot of people. Good people, anyway," Ava said.

"We're all bad people," Caitlin stated.

"You guys are good people who just made a mistake. Besides, this isn't the first time Mona's covered up a murder," Alison said.

The three gave her looks, and realized that Alison and Mona would have to write a book or 10 about their lives before Beacon Heights.

Then, the front door opened, and moments later Taylor was in the living room with everyone.

"Taylor! What are you doing here?" Alison asked.

Taylor looked around the room and saw that Dylan, Caitlin, and Ava were present.

"Did I miss the message about this meeting or...?" she asked.
