CHAPTER FOUR: We Don't Keep Secrets

HOSPITAL

MONA'S ROOM

The Perfectionists, Alison, and Mona had just watched Detective James announce that the police believed Dana was alive.

"If Dana's alive..." Dylan said.

"Then who the hell did I hit with my car?" Ava asked.

"There's no way they found Dana. She's dead. We know this!" Caitlin said, refusing to believe that Dana could still be out there somewhere.

"It could just be the Professor messing with us. This happened to me once, too, and-" Alison began.

"Wait a second. You went through this exact thing?" Ava asked.

"You'd be surprised about all the stuff that's happened to us," Mona replied.

"My point is, Dana is dead. Ava hit her with her car, and then we buried her body. It's practically impossible for Dana to be alive," Alison said.

"You were knocked unconscious, buried alive, and then pulled out from under the ground. You're saying this couldn't have happened to Dana, too?" Dylan asked.

Alison realized that Dylan had a point. People thought she was dead for two years, and those same people also thought Mona had been dead for some time, too. A faked death wasn't completely out of the realm of possibility.

"If Dana was alive, wouldn't she be coming after us for what we did to her?" Caitlin asked.

"Not if she doesn't know who did it to her. She may think that someone is after her and decided to flee. She was in the FBI so it wouldn't be that hard for her to manipulate the system," Alison replied.

"Wouldn't it be best then if Dana was alive? That means we wouldn't have killed her and there wouldn't be anymore reason for us to panic," Ava said.

"You're forgetting the fact that you still hit her with your car, buried her, and then left the scene. Those are still crimes, Ava. Felonies," Mona replied.

"Let's forget about Dana right now. There are bigger problems we need to deal with right now," Alison said.

"Like what?" Caitlin said.

"Claire and Taylor. If we're still on board with the idea that Claire is the Professor then we need to find proof before approaching Taylor or anyone else with our theory. We also need to keep Taylor as far as we can from the Dana thing until we figure out the truth."

"Agreed. We need to start digging deeper into Claire," Mona said.

"Where would we even start? She probably hides her secrets in Fort Knox or something," Dylan asked.

"Not Fort Knox, but close enough to it. Claire has a file about everyone in Beacon Heights. Even herself. She keeps them at Hotchkiss Industries."

"Are you suggesting we break into Hotchkiss Industries and steal Claire's file?" Caitlin asked.

"Oh God no! I'm suggesting you walk in and steal it."
