Chap 13:~ life

"You can't believe it,Firdaus and I went to shop in her favorite babies shop
You need to see the cuteness,girl!"Halima said excitedly then continued eating her unripe mango
I came over due to boredom

"I'm so happy for you"I said happily
I can't imagine how beautiful their child would turn out to be

"I'm waiting for your news but I doubt you act too holy.Maybe you haven't even consummate your wedding"she said without thinking and I was hurt
To avoid saying anything I rolled my eyes,stood up and bid her goodbye

Her pregnancy made her more blunt
As much as I wanted to be a mother,a part of me wasn't ready but who am i to reject it if Allah gives me?

I opened the door by typing the code and found the lights on,my mind slipped into confusion.i knew I switched of the lights
Walking towards the kitchen I found Numan

I sighed approaching him with a smile

"You scared me!"I exclaimed hitting his chest slightly and he chuckled taking me into his arms

"I'm sorry,wanted to surprise you and your favorite red velvet cake is ready!"he said happily
Few days back he was always thinking or tired
But I understood

I got teary wrapping my arms around his waist and my head on his chest

"I love you,forgive me if I was sad you weren't the one pregnant.i tend to forget it's Allah's plans not ours"he said softly rubbing my back and I smiled
Before speaking up

"I love you more and along the line I also want a baby,I fell in love with the way you love babies
And even though they are annoying when they cry
I would love to have one running around"

"And In sha Allah we will"he assured and I whispered in sha Allah

I was reading a novel in the balcony when mesages came in about our first semester results
I was nervous,hundred level will determine if I was ready for medicine or not
And how?it starts with first semester so I decided to let Numan check it for me.

"My sis,you are the best I received the baby package.so cute
Check your results also!or I will check it myself"

I chuckled at the message Halima sent,putting my phone aside and went back to reading my book with my favorite nasheed by Maher Zain playing.

The day flew fast and I found myself in the bedroom
Seems Numan is back
I can remember laying on the couch,I must have fallen asleep and he carried me up.

"I was coming to wake you,it's time for magrib.lets pray"He said the moment he walked into the room
These days I see Numan often except when he has night shifts but if it's not night shift
He comes back early due to the large number of newly employed doctors

I smiled getting up,performed ablution and we prayed

"You look beautiful"he whispered caressing my cheeks

"You do realize my face swells up when I wake up from sleep and I don't find that beautiful"I said thoughtful and he shook his head before saying "I wish you could see how my eyes see you"

And I felt a rush of excitement in my entire body

"Now let's have our dinner"I said kissing his palm and he did the same smiling

We got up,I removed my hijab and he folded the mats then we walked to the dining room holding hands

"I didn't tell you!!!our results are out.i haven't checked I was nervous"I said feeling nervous

"Don't worry I will check it for you baby"he said while we dish our food happily

And here we are ready for bed but I was still nervous while Numan logs into the school account on his phone

"Oh my God!"he exclaimed I couldn't see his expression because I was looking at my palms nervously

"What!i did bad?"I asked sadly

"You did so well,for Someone complaining
You only have As and Bs.im so proud of you wife
I look forward to our Sunday dates night
I will get you gift"he said then pecked my lips and I sighed the moment he took me into his arms

"Alhamdulilah"we both said in unison

who would have thought I would come this far
