First Day

     Y/N POV:
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
I opened my eyes and groaned. It was morning and I was exhausted. 'What did I do last night?' I thought. 'Oh yeah, I went out "drinking" with Haida.' I remembered. I went to grab my phone. 5:00 A.M. I tried to go back to sleep but it wasn't easy cause I was already wide awake. I checked my calendar to see what day it was. It was Monday...wait..HOLY SHIT TODAY IS MY FIRST DAY! I yeeted myself out of bed and did my morning routine. I ran downstairs and saw Haida sitting in a chair and eating breakfast. 'Wait why is he here again?' I asked myself. "Morning Sunshine!" He said. He was wearing his normal attire and looked like he was already ready for work. "What are you doing?! We're gonna be late!" "Hey chill, work starts at 8:00 (I think) it's 5:30 in the morning." "O-Oh, whoops." I saw a light blush on his cheeks. "S-Sorry about yesterday." He said rubbing the back of his neck in shame. "What happened?" "You forgot?! Did you drink something last night?" "O-Oh yea, I have a terrible memory in the mornings. But still, you better be sorry. You promised you won't get drunk. Pretty selfish of you if you ask me. My question is though how do you remember?" His blush worsened when I asked. "W-well u-umm, well...we k-kinda were in each other's arms l-last night.." I started to wonder what he meant then I remembered. We were cuddling last night and I did nothing about it. My face felt like it was on fire. "O-Oh y-yea that, u-um I'm sorry.." "You don't have to apologize it was my fault anyway, a-anyways I tried to make breakfast. I looked over on the table and saw F/F (Favorite food) "Oh, thanks!" I sat next to him and ate.

Haida and I ate awkwardly in silence. A few minutes later I finished eating and looked at the time.  Hey, its 7:00. We should get going. He nodded and we both went in his car and drove to the office.

-Timeskip-

Still Y/N Pov:

When we got there, I was more than excited to be working there. Despite the me and Haida incident, we both just decided to pretend it never happened and not to bring it up since its my first day and I didn't really want to mutter, stutter, or blush in front of everybody. When we got inside, the first thing I noticed was the red panda named Retsuko from the other day. She was talking to a dik-dik and doing a weird dance with her arms? I looked down and saw her wearing pink crocs. I chuckled and Haida turned his head to look at me. "Whats so funny?" "Oh, nothin." He smiled and looked the other way. We both got into the elevator and showed me the locker rooms. We both changed into our uniforms and went to the office. Haida and I parted ways and he told me to meet up 12:00 for tea. I went up to Mr. Tons desk cause he said he was going to introduce me to the office. "Everyone meet our new worker!" He said with a disturbing grin. "My name is Y/N, I look forward to work with you!" I said. After the introduction, Mr. Ton showed me where the accounting department was. I sat in the chair and got straight to work. I was already trained so I didn't need a lot of help. "Hey, Y/N! It's nice to see you again!" A couple of seats from me, I saw Retsuko next to a white fox. "Oh hey Rets-" "My desk is dusty, my vase hasn't got any flowers in it, and the humidifier's empty!" The three of us looked over and saw Mr. Ton steaming. "Would you like me to refill the humidifier, sir?" Said a meerkat. "We can't have your throat getting irritated, can we?" I gulped wondering who was gonna get yelled at. "Retsuko, I think its your turn on Monday." Retsuko had a look of terror. "I'll do it right now sir!" Then she started cleaning Mr. Ton's desk. "It's usually like this, you'll get used to it, I'm Fennoko by the way." Said the fox next to me. "Nice to meet you Fenneko." We both watched Retsuko as she finished cleaning Mr. Ton's desk. "Tea." "What?" asked Retsuko. "I'm gonna need some tea, its part of your job to, because its women's work." This "boss" is starting to piss me off. 'At least keep your thoughts to yourself.' I thought. I felt bad for Retsuko, he's one of those sexist dicks. "Y/N." "O-oh yes?" "You were muttering, but I couldn't agree with you more."

We both went back to work after talking and we saw Retsuko come back with the tea and gave it to Ton. "Enjoy." She said. He grunted in response and Retsuko made her way back to her computer but Ton spit out his tea. "This is basically hot water." "Retsuko, remake it this instant!" Said the meerkat who's name is apparently Komiya according to Fenneko. "Nah, let her go, it's cute isn't it? Incompetent women are such a pain in the ass, but there better than the competent ones, am I right?" They both started laughing and I was raging. That's when I felt an strange aroma. Retsuko then came back looking calm as ever. "Are you okay?" "I'm fine, I'm going to the bathroom be right back." She said her smile not fading as he grabbed her purse. I don't understand how she's so calm at this point. If it were me, I would of flicked my lid on him. She came back after a couple of minutes. "That's pretty impressive." Said Fenneko. Retsuko turned her around. "If he said that to me, I would of told him where to stick that tea." "Honestly though, how can you be so calm to that jerk." I said. "Yea..., but it was partly my fault for forgetting." "Still. That kind of mannerism wasn't on my job application." "My sincerest apologies, my style of leadership was too forceful." I turned my head around and saw Haida making an impression if Ton. "He could get away with it and wouldn't even be demoted. You'd be putting more at stake by reporting it. Anyway's I see you girls met my friend." I blushed in embarrassment. "We did, and call us girls again I dare you." Said Fennko. "Women, that's what I meant, but isn't work unreasonable to begin with? Kissing up to the bosses just a bit will..." "Haida, you kiss up a lot." "What?! It's just standard office politics." I chuckled slightly. Then all four of us watched that deer lady named Tsunoda envying Mr. Ton. "Hey Y/N, still up for tea?" asked Haida. "Yep." I said in an annoyed tone. "Mind if we join?" asked Fenneko. We all went our way to the tea room (tea room right?) when we saw two women looking like superiors. I zoned out while Fenneko and Haida were talking, I'm guessing that Retsuko was also zoned out.

We made our way to the tea room and drank our drinks. "Well, should we go back?" I sighed and nodded. "Why not?" Said Retsuko. We were walking back to the office. "So, how's your first day?" Asked Haida. "Eh, its okay apart from a sexist boss." I answered. He chuckled. "You'll get used to it." I sighed. "I hope so." When we made it back to the office, we were all face to face with Mr. Ton but he was looking at Retsuko. "Had fun on your break?" He said evilly. "I need you to look over these." He gave Retsuko a stack of books and Retsuko looked like she was dying inside. "And I need them back today." He said as he stomped away. We all looked at Retsuko. "Want some help?" Asked Haida. "...This is fine." Haida and I looked at each other in disbelief. "Your chillness is a sight to behold." I said. "I'm impressed Retsuko." Said Fenneko.

We said our goodbyes and I stayed with Haida since he was dropping me off home. "Wanna grab some dinner?" He asked. "Sure, I'm starving." I replied. We both got into the car and drove to F/R (Favorite Restaurant)  "I feel bad for Retsuko." I said. He blushed when I mentioned her name. "R-Retsuko why?" I looked at him with suspicion and continued talking. "You know, about her boss, well our boss." "O-oh right." I kept staring at him but shrugged and looked out the window.

-After Dinner-

When we got to my house, we both got out of the car and said our goodbyes. I was thankful for what Haida had done. Made me breakfast, showed me around, made sure I wasn't nervous, taking me out to dinner, and dropping me off home. When he turned to his car, I grabbed his hand. "Wait." I said. "Umm what's the hol-" I interrupted him by hugging him tightly. I don't usually hug people but it felt good. "Thanks for everything." Haida stiffened for a bit but then wrapped an arm around me patting my back. "Y-Your welcome I guess." I pulled out of the hug and felt my cheeks burn. 'Why did I do that?' I asked myself. "See ya tomorrow Sunshine!" He said as he left. I just stood there like an idiot muttering to myself why I did that. It felt like  million years till I got into my house. I did my night routine and plopped myself into bed. 'I wonder if I made him feel uncomfortable. Probably did.' I sighed. 'When I mentioned Retsuko's name, he started to get flustered, he doesn't tell me his love life, what if he likes Retsuko...? T-That's impossible though, why would he? She is cute but..wait why am I even thinking about that? I'll support anyone he dates, unless its a toxic relationship, but its not like I like him or anything, o-or do I? I'll just shut up and sleep.'
