Aiden lead us to the kitchen, looking around before beginning to talk. "Look, I'm sorry about this morning." he began, "It was uncharacteristic of me. I just...I was upset that Ryan had told them it was okay to come over without even asking us. And then you were okay with it, like you weren't sick or anything. It just made me mad. I don't know. I'm sorry." He looked at me, his eyes meeting mine, trying to read my expression.
"Okay." I said, shrugging. "I wasn't mad at you, but thanks for apologizing."
His face dropped. "So, that's it?"
"What do you mean?" I questioned him. "What were you expecting?"
"I don't know... a fight? Maybe you were going to start crying? I wasn't expecting you to accept my apology so easily."
My eyes narrowed. "We have guests in the other room. I'm not going to make a mountain out of a molehill. If anything, you should apologize to them," I turned away from him and walked back into the living room, taking a seat next to Michael.
He looked at me cautiously. "You alright?" He asked, just loud enough for me to hear, and I gave a short nod, turning my attention to the conversation.
Aiden entered the room and immediately apologized, which they all accepted, and thanked them for making lunch, and then grabbed his stuff again and left for work. As soon as he was out the door, Michael let out a relieved sigh. "That was awkward."
Luke nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I don't think he's ever going to like us." He took a cheese covered tortilla chip and shoved it into his mouth. "It's okay because you like us. Right?"
I shook my head, laughing. "Of course." I sucked in a breath. "I'm going to be honest and super dorky for a minute. I'm asking for forgiveness in advance." They all stared at me, waiting for me to continue. "Meeting you guys was one of the things I would daydream about. Just hanging out with you guys and being friends. And now it's actually happened and you're genuinely nice people, and I'm excited that you guys actually like me." I smiled to myself, then looked up at them. "Stop staring at me I feel weird."
"Awh, Fletcher!" Michael laughed and pulled me into a hug on the couch, my head under his chin. Calum joined next, piling on top of me, then Luke and Ashton finished it off by simply sitting on all of us. "Don't feel weird. We love you already even though it's only been a day."
Luke popped his head out and smiled. "In fact, we've decided we're taking you back to Sydney when we leave next week."
"Also, dibs has already been called and cute phone nicknames put it." Ashton giggled.
"What about dibs?" I laughed. "You can't dibs people."
"Oh yes you can!" Michael said, looking down at me.
"No you can't!"
"Why not? It's like bro-code 'mine.'" Luke replied.
"Which one of you dibsed me, anyway?"
"It doesn't matter, You'll find out eventually." Michael laughed as Ashton hopped off and I pushed the other two off of Michael and I. He helped me off of him and brushed my hair back into place. "So, sickling. Since we're all awake, what are we going to do after lunch?"
I thought for a moment before realizing the obvious answer. "Monopoly. Duh."
"Oh, no we are not." Ashton said pointedly. "That game makes a monster of people and ruins friendships. You will tear this band apart!"
"That's true." Luke said. "Once, the four of us wouldn't talk to each other for a week or so because we were so angry at each other."
"You're all drama queens. Alrighty... I can force you guys to listen to my music." I smiled proudly.
"That sounds fun. Music really opens the soul. I don't want to listen to myself singing right now, though." Calum smirked and I threw a pillow at him.
"Walk home." He tried to protest. "Nope. Go. Shoo. Call Mark."
"I'm sure there's some compromise. We can make him stand in the corner." Michael suggested.
"Hey, now." Calum said, putting his hands up defensively. "Let's not get that far."
I sighed, stretching my arms out in front of me. "We can watch a movie. I have a pretty impressive collection." I pointed to the movie shelf and Ashton stood up, grabbing a movie and turning the DVD player on, putting in the movie and turning the television on. "Moulin Rouge" appeared on the screen after the few minutes of commercial and I sighed with giddiness. "I absolutely love this movie." I told them, grabbing a nearby pillow and hugging it. Michael got up, turning off the living room light and taking his seat next to me again.
"I think my favorite song in this entire movie is Elephant Love Medley." Ashton said, and Calum nodded in agreement.
"Mine is definitely Come What May. It's heartbreakingly beautiful." I replied, and Luke piped up.
"I personally prefer Like a Virgin." The five of us were silent before Michael cracked, a small giggle breaking through his mouth. Then Luke started laughing, pleased with his joke, followed by the rest off us until we were all laughing so hard we couldn't breathe. I paused for a moment, before laughing again, wanting nothing more than to have days like these every week.
