Nash's P.O.V.
Saturday finally arrived and I was putting the things I needed for James' house in a bag. After I was done packing, I went down the stairs.
I walked into the kitchen and told my mom I was leaving. I went to the living room and went out the door. After I was almost at James' house, I texted him.
"Hey, I'll be there in two minutes."
I slid my phone in my back pocket and kept going. I reached his house and wen up the porch. I knocked and he opened it seconds later.
I went inside and said hello to his mom. We walked up the stairs and we went into his room.
"What do you want to do?" he asked me.
"Uh, I kinda just want to sit around and be lazy. It feels like one of those days," I laughed.
"Okay," he started, "so, are there any new girls yet?" he asked me with a funny smirk spread across his face.
All of the memories I have with Jess flashed in my mind. I thought about the first time we met, our first kiss, and everything else. As badly as I wanted to tell James, I couldn't.
"No," I said while wiping the smile off of my face.
He looked down at his phone and didn't ask me anything else. He soon got up and left, leaving me here, drowning in my own thoughts.
Jess' P.O.V.
Nash was spending the day at my house with James. I so badly wanted to go out and hug him, but I couldn't. Not with James around.
I heard a noise outside my door. I put my phone on the side table by my bed, and walked to the door. I opened it and stepped out, bumping into someone.
I looked up and saw Nash. Once he saw it was me, he smiled. I took a small step back and looked at him.
"Hey," he said.
"Hi," I answered him quietly.
He walked over and hugged me. I couldn't resist, I hugged him back. He smelled like the cologne that he said was his favorite. He lifted his head from the hug and looked at me. He leaned in and kissed me. I immediately pulled away.
"Nash, we can't, James," I said.
I wasn't even fully understanding my own words. I escaped from Nash's grip and stood there with my arms crossed. He let out a sigh, and let his head hang. He looked at the floor.
I heard a door knob turn and James walked out of the bathroom. He noticed me and Nash and came over there.
"What's up Jess?" He said.
"Oh, nothing," I answered him.
I looked over at Nash who seemed angry. James started walking away, back into his room. Nash was following him. I had to do it.
"Wait," I said.
They both turned around and looked at me. I opened my mouth to speak, and I couldn't find the words.
"Me and Nash are dating," I eventually blurted out.
Nash's eyes widened, and I looked over at James. He was looking at me. He didn't seem angry, upset, hurt, or anything. He looked emotionless. He looked over at Nash. I could feel Nash's fear from where I was standing.
I was about to say something to break the silence, but I was interrupted.
"Really?" James said with a toothy smile.
I looked at him and nodded my head. He smiled at me and I returned the gesture. His smile wiped off when he looked at Nash. He raised his eyebrow.
"He's treating you right?" He asked me, putting the attention back on me.
I nodded my head yes once again, and the same smile showed up.
"Good," James said while Nash was walking over to me.
He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.
"I'm gonna go back with James, I am his guest," Nash told me with a laugh.
After he left, I walked back into my room. I didn't hear from him for the rest of the night, except for one time.
I was sleeping in my bed when I heard my door open. I didn't bother looking over. My mom does laundry late at night all the time, and she comes in to get my dirty clothes.
Soon, someone's hands were on my shoulders, lightly shaking me out of my trance. I opened my eyes fully. I reached over to my lamp and pulled the string. I grabbed my glasses and put the one my face. Squinting my eyes, I realized it was Nash.
"Nash, what are you doing?"
"I wanted to cuddle. James already fell asleep," he explained.
I lightly sighed, and scooted over. I pulled up the covers a bit to invite him in. He climbed in next to me, and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close.
At this point I wasn't tired anymore.
"I never knew you wore glasses," he said with his eyes closed.
I laughed, "yeah. I never wear them. I have contacts."
"Why?" He said, looking at me.
"Why what?" I asked him.
"Why don't you ever wear your glasses?"
"I look horrible with glasses on," I said and laughed.
He pinched my side.
"Ow!" I said, "What was that for!?"
"Don't ever say you look horrible in anything," he told me while laughing.
I replied with a small laugh and closed my eyes. We were laying there in silence, only the sounds of our breaths.
"I want to take you out on a date," he said.
"What?" I asked, half asleep.
"I want to take you out on a proper date now that James knows. You know, the nice ones. Nothing huge. I just want to be able to pick you up at your house and not have you sneak around," he said.
"Okay," I replied, smiling.
"Oh," he said, "and wear you glasses."
"No way!" I yelled in a whisper.
"Yes," he protested.
I said nothing. I just put my head back on his chest and let out a breath. He got up and walked to the other side of the bed. He leaned over and covered me up fully, taking my glasses off of my face and placing them back in their original spot.
"Where are you going?" I asked him, looking up.
"James may approve of us dating, but I don't think he'll enjoy us sleeping together," he said with a laugh.
He tucked me in as if I was a child and kissed the side of my forehead. I heard him walking towards the door.
"I love you Jess," he called before shutting it behind him.
I couldn't answer him before he shut the door.
"I love you too," I whispered.
I fell asleep thinking about Nash. By just about him, like I always do. I fell asleep thinking about how he is. He's been put out as a horrible person, especially by my own brother. I'm scared of what he'll do. I don't know if this is all an act just for now, or if he really does love me.
