         Sweater weather- the Neighbourhood

The cars outside ran through puddles causing loud splashes to be heard from the streets.

It was nice all day, Hotpants and Diego were outside for most of it, both of them were wearing shorts. Hotpants was wearing pink high waisted shorts with a black crop top while diego wore black shorts with a blue tee shirt. But as they were laying on the front lawn it started to rain, and the both of them were sent running inside. Which leads to three hours later.

"I'm so bored"

"Tell me about it"

Both of them changed into sweaters and kept their shorts on. They were huddled up on the couch with a blanket draped over them. On the glass table infront of them, two coffee mugs were resting on it. Both filled up with steaming coffee which was especially good on a cold day.

"babe could you grab another blanket please?"

"Oh sure"

Diego got off the couch and walked to the hallway closet to grab a soft purple blanket. As he came back to the living room Hotpants was sitting up with the blankets draped around her, she was holding her mug in her lap, bringing it up to her lips to take small sips from the yellow mug.

"do you wanna go outside?"

"Go outside? It's raining"

"Well duh I know that but I mean if you wanna go on the porch and watch the rain"

"your so weird HP"

"oh be quiet, it's really calming"

Diego rolled his eyes and laughed at her.

"Well we can go outside if you want"

"Oh definitely! You gotta experience how good it is" she said playfully shoving him.

Both of them grabbed their blankets and mugs and walked outside onto the front porch, closing the door behind them. They sat down beside each other both facing the rain.

The loud sound of the rain pounding against the ground filled the hair. Diego held his mug in his hands to try to keep warm. It was easy got him to get cold since he was part reptile so he'd usually rely on his partner to warm him up by giving him cuddles.

Diego looked over at Hotpants and noticed how happy she looked staring out at the rain.
She had a small smile on her face as her mug was resting in front of her. She turned towards diego and enthusiastically spoke.

"Isn't it nice? I wish I could stay like this forever"

"...yeah this is nice"

He said letting out a deep sigh, letting the petrichor air fill his lungs. He had to admit it, it was really nice after all. He always loved the smell of rain, the earthy notes that lingered in the cool air.

"Hey, darling"

"yes Diego?"

"What if I ruled Manhattan"

"hm I guess that'd make me your queen" she said as they both laughed at her comment.

As the city started to turn to dusk, they watched the sun set as it changed into multiple different colours and hues. They talked for hours upon hours as the night fully set in.

Around 1:38 the rain started to slow down and become lighter, you could hear the sound of frogs and crickets chirping away.

As the night went on, it became colder and colder making them head inside where they continues to cuddle in bed.
