Chapter 9:Duel Academy Duel Tournament part 2: Celebration

After the first round of the Tournament ended. The friends walked over to the red dorm. Harley, Aeri, Corey, Seth and Jaden are drinking some punch made by Gatomon, Shi En and Winged Kuriboh. Jaden noticed that Gatomon was more of a free spirit than any other Duel Spirit that he saw in this world. The brown hair Duelist asked"Question Corey, what's with Gatomon?"

The white hair student answers "Let me start at the beginning of our story."

The cat duel Spirit says "Long ago when I was born, I was made for some purpose. I was just a free spirit.  I met my partner when he was born. We didn't know what was good or bad."

Then the black version of Gatomon appeared on the white haired student's shoulder. He said "This is her counterpart. We can merge like Yuma and Astral into Biomerge. We'll be the path that lights the way for hope and love. I can only merge with my two cats: one of light and one of darkness."

Jaden looked at Yubel and his Elemental Hero Neos.  He said after a few minutes of silence "Hey I got an idea, let's duel."

Harley says "I'm game."

Aeri says "Let's throw down."

Corey looked at his two cats for a response. They didn't give him one. "I'm not sure about Dueling you. You are the top Duelist that graduated from here seven years ago. Plus I am only starting to get good at this. Sure my record might be crappy, however, I'm going to be the best there is."

Jaden says "Yeah, I agree with that. Also the only reason I agreed to come back to Duel Academy was to help the duel spirits here. All of this darkness started when Biomerge appeared. So want to tell me something."

Harley says "Yeah, I want an explanation as well."

The digital Duelist says "Well." As everyone gathered around him. "I don't have one." They all fall down from the unexpected Answer.

Gatomon said "Let's say this, I am a Duel spirit that can fuse with a human. It's unheard of? Yes it is. Can I move between the worlds freely? Yes I can, however, I'm bound by a chain that has me come back to Corey when I am needed. What else can I do? I can duel Myself. I can swap places with him after we Biomerge or when I am needed to take over the duel. So let's duel Judia."

Jaden smiled "Sure Biomerge vs the Supreme King."

Gatomon says "Yubel vs Gatomon. Since she's a duel spirit. A duel spirit vs duel spirit match."

Later that afternoon
Jaden/Yubel walked over to Corey/Gatomon. They shuffled their decks and walked a few yards away. A girl walked up to them and asked "Can I watch you two duel?"

Jaden/Yubel says "Sure. I don't mind."

Gatomon whispered into her partner's ear a question. "Can I take the lead on this one?" The partner of the Wild child Duel Spirit nods yes.

The girl says "Yes, I can't wait to learn how to play the game of Duel Monsters. I can learn from watching the two of you guys play."

Gatomon said "Jaden I'm going to be Dueling as Corey. Since not many people can see or hear me."

Jaden says "Yeah that's fine. If he's going to agree to it."

Corey says "Yeah I'm ok with it. My friend, it's time to duel." Gatomon swapped places with Corey.

Gatomon:8000
Jaden:8000

Both of them yelled "Duel."

Jaden says "I'll take the first move." He drew a card and looked at his hand. "I'll set a monster and a couple of face downs. That's my turn."

Gatomon said "Okay, I'll show you some real moves."  She drew a card and studied her hand. "First thing first, I Activate the spell card known as Polymerization to fuse my Favorite monster Gatomon and her old pal Wizardmon." The two monsters appeared on the field and merged into angel. "Witness my ascension to Greatness.  I fusion summon… The universal protector of light. Angewomon."

Mikey asked "What's Fusion summoning?"

Jaden answered "It is a special Summoning that you can do during the Main phases or even during the battle phase with a certain card. It mostly required Polymerization or some monsters can contact fuse. They get shuffled back into your deck or Extra deck in some cases."

Gatomon said "Yeah, There is also Pendulum summoning, XYZ, Ritual, Synchro, XYZ, Link and Biomerge Summoning. All of these are different types of Summoning other than Tribute and normal."

Jaden says "Reveal set card, Hero Emerges. You pick a random card in my hand if it is a monster I get to special summon it."

Gatomon said "I Activate Wizardmon ability from the graveyard, I return to my hand to Negate your trap card." She takes out the level 4 light Spellcaster and adds it to her hand. Jaden was laughing. "Now Angewomon attacks your set monster. Go Holy Cross." She fired a cross at the set monster, it was flip overs to be Neo Spacian Grand Mole. It's Destroyed and Jaden bounces back from the blast.

Jaden says "My go." He drew a card and looked at it. "I Activated my field spell Neo Space. Now I will Summon Neo Spacian Dark Panther." The black panther appeared on the field. "Now my fake hero Spell card. I Summon Neos. Let's go Contact Fusion." Elemental Hero Dark Neos appeared on the Field.

Duel disk: "Intrusion Penalty 2000 Life Points." This new Duelist didn't mind only having 2000 Life points to their name.
