Hop X Reader (Angst)

Why did you have to leave, he loved you. 

Hop didn't think that he'd ever fall in love with his rival, but he did. He loved the long train rides from town to town while you both played on your phones. He missed your smile, your bright e/c eyes. Only if he knew how you really felt about him. 

Ever since you began your pokemon journey, you had been able to escape your house and feel what others called "freedom". You had been walking along route two whenever a clumsy boy ran into you. You both fell to the ground and the boy immediately began saying sorry. His big brown eyes began to fill with tears, which you began to tell him it was really okay. You pulled him in close for a comforting hug, which he gave back. After that day, you and Hop had become fated rivals.

You had defeated all of the Galarian gyms, and now you had to face the boy that you loved, Hop. Nobody would have ever guessed that you had liked your rival, but you did. Hop gave you something to wake up to, that stupid toothy grin. Both of you had arrived in Wyndon and decided to take a quick break before the matches. In your heart, you just didn't think Hop felt the same about you, tearing you up on the inside. You thought to yourself, "Who would ever like someone like me? I am the less bit of attractive, chubbier than most girls, and I just look like a trainwreck." 

Hop banged his fists on your hotel room door, only to hear crying from the other side. He was able to get the door open only to witness a crying Y/N on the floor. He rushed to your side, comforting you like you had done to him before. He held you in a tight embrace, rubbing circles into your back. "Y/N, are you okay? If you don't want to tell me I understand but know that I will not leave until you feel better." His company made you smile, which plastered a goofy look on Hop's face. Only if he knew that was the last time he would be able to see that smile.

I feel so bad about doing this to poor Hop. I think I will write a cute chapter for him later on, but we all knew this was coming. Still, I am crying while writing this. Until next time,
