Third-Person POVAmari and Mosey sat in silence for a while until Amari decided to break it.
"How did you get my number?" Amari gazed at Mosey with pure curiosity. Mosey paused for a while.
"Do you remember anything from last night?"
"No, I just woke up to some missed calls and some messages...the messages." I took my phone out and read the text but the first one caught my attention. 'who the fuck was that on the phone?' I look over at Mosey. "Lathan what the fuck did you say to Tyrek?"
"I told you to stop calling me that."
"I don't give a fuck what you wanna be called. Thanks to you, my relationship might be over. You made me look like a cheater!" Mosey abruptly pulled the car over, causing my body to bolt forward. "Nigga, you tryna kill me?"He glared at me.
"You know that nigga cheats on you right and you worrying if he thinks that you did it to him?"
"Those are just rumors, Tyrek would never-"
"THERE WAS ANOTHER BITCH ON THE PHONE" Amari held her head down. "And deep down, you know he's cheating. The alcohol just brought the truth outta you, now you just gotta sober up and accept the truth."
Amari was silent at first."Lathan" Mosey glared at Amari. "Mosey...I can't leave him." Mosey kissed his teeth.
"Amari, how could you find an excuse to stay with him?"
"BECAUSE HE KNOWS THE REAL ME"
"Do you even know the real you Mari? Do you even recognize when a friend is trying to help you?"
"Friend?"
"Yes Amari, I care about you and you don't need that bitch anyway." Amari let out an airy laugh. "That's what I like to hear from you, now let's get you to school before Rosko kills me." Mosey started driving again. "Amari, how did you meet that nigga, what was his name? Tyrone?" Amari laughed.
"His name is Tyrek and I...I met him the same time I met Rosko."
"How long have you known Rosko?"
"We just became friends like a minute ago and you're already asking about my life story." Mosey chuckled.
"Well, you're gonna have to tell me eventually."
"How did you meet Rosko?" Mari asked Mosey
"That's a story for another time sweetheart, considering that he doesn't let you in the basement." They conversed more until they finally pulled up to Amari's school.
"Well this is my stop." Amari got out of the car.
Not long after, she felt a hand on her shoulder."This the nigga you cheating on me with?"
"Tyrek I..."
"You what? You spreading your legs for him and not me?"
"Tha- That's not it I just..."
"Just what? Spit it out" Just then, Amari felt someone place their hand in hers.
"Amari, you left your water bottle in the car." Amari didn't bring a water bottle but she knew exactly what Mosey was doing and she wasn't mad at it. "Who's this Mari?"
"Mari? Amari you got this nigga calling you by your nickname? And to answer your question my name is Tyrek, what's yours?"
"Didn't I already tell you? I'm your replacement. Mari I'm gonna leave, call me if you want a ride home. Can I get a hug before I leave though ?" Tyrek glared at Amari as if he was daring her to do it. She smirked and went to hug Mosey. Mosey held her tightly.
"Thanks for this Mosey." Amira whispered
"Anytime...but could you forgive me for what I'm about to do?"
"And what is th-"
Mosey placed his lips on Amari's, his hands travelled down and he squeezed it forcefully. Amari pulled away and she was both shocked and fearful of what would happen next. She nervously turned towards Tyrek and he was fuming. Tyrek's demeanor was even more intimidating than before as he walked up to Amari. He leaned over and whispered something in her ear and she turned and looked at Mosey with a regretful face. She was then dragged off by Tyrek.
