-Deku's pov-
I wake up in a dark room on a bed with a nightstand next to it. I sit up, and am immediately greeted with pain all over my body. I then remember what had happened a few hours earlier.
"N-no. . ." I whisper. I immediately cough because my throat is dry.
I reach over to the nightstand, and my hand connects with a glass of water. I quickly pick it up and drink the cold water, immediately soothing my throat.
My eyes were adjusted to the dark by now, and I saw a light switch next to a door. I stand up, legs shaky from not using them for so long, and walk over to the switch. I push it up with my finger, and almost immediately the room floods with light.
My eyes quickly adjust, and I start thinking whether or not I should leave the room.
I finally decide to leave to room. I open the door quietly, flinching every time it creaks. I walk out into a hallway, and I start walking. There's other doors, but I decide to not go through them, just in case they're bedrooms for the villains.
I arrive at the top of some stairs, and I walk down them, causing them to creak beneath my feet. I start to hear voices in the bar, so I stop to listen, trying to bend down to see but not be seen by the villains.
"Why did we kidnap a quirkless kid? What would he be able to do for us?" A bored voice asks. I immediately connect it to the one named dabi.
"Because, he's good at taking notes. It could be useful to take down the number one hero, All Might." Shigaraki says, while waving around my burned notebook.
They want to take down the number one hero?!
Yes, and you said you'd help them.
I bite my lip, ashamed that I would give in so quickly. Other people will be in pain because of me! Innocent people will lose their lives because I was selfish. The number one hero, the symbol of hope, the pillar of peace, All Might, will die because I couldn't take a little bit of pain.
"Don't be shy, midoriya," the purple fog says, "come down here."
My eyes widen in Shock at the realization that they knew I was there the whole time. Must have been the creaky stairs.
I step down the remaining steps, and reveal my self to the villains.
"H-hi. . ." I whisper.
Everyone but the purple fog looks at me in surprise. They apparently weren't expecting me to wake up so soon.
Shigaraki smiles and motions for me to sit down on one of the stools. I walk over with shaky legs and sit down on a stool farthest from the villains. Im able to clearly see the room, and look around. It's a mostly empty room with a bar counter and stools. An assortment of drinks line the shelves behind the counter, and most of them are non-alcoholic. Even though they're villains. It's actually pretty clean. No one except dabi, shigaraki, and the fog person are there.
The clattering of a plate takes me out of my thoughts. I look down and see a plate full of scrambled eggs and bacon, with a fork next to it.
Judging by the type of food, I realize it's the morning.
"We thought you would be hungry after what you want through this past week," the fog says, "and you can call me kurogiri. I apologize for not introducing myself earlier."
I stare at him in surprise, not expecting an apology from a villain. I am hungry though, so I look down and start to grab the fork. I stop suddenly as a thought hits me.
What if it's poisoned?
My thought must have shown on my face, because Dabi sighs and picks up the fork. I watch as he stabs a piece of egg and eats it, showing that they aren't trying to poison me. He hands me the fork, and motions toward the plate. Not wanting to anger them, I start eating, surprised at how good it is.
While I eat, Shigaraki starts talking about what my role will be in the group.
"You will take the entrance exam for UA, and take notes on the people in the hero course. You will be in class 1A of the hero course when you get in, so you can easily take notes. You will show us everything you write." Shigaraki says, causing me to choke on the bacon in surprise.
"U-UA?! H-how will I get in?! I. . . I don't h-have a q-quirk," I stutter, confused.
"Easily. My master will give you a quirk of his choosing," Shigaraki says, smiling behind the hand on his face, "In fact, I remember him telling me to bring you to him once you were awake. "
Shigaraki leads me to another room where there are monitors and tubes leading to a chair on the opposite side of the door. I jump when I hear the slamming of the door behind me.
"So very nice to meet you, midoriya." A man in the chair says. I can't see him because it's too dark, but going by the voice, I can tell he is the leader.
"H-how do you know my name?" I say, wondering what else he knows about me.
"I did my research. You're no stranger to research, judging by how many notes you have in that notebook of yours. How did it get burned? Why would anyone want to throw away such precious information?" He says, finishing with a question.
You're useful to them. He said your information was precious, unlike kacchan.
"W-well, I-I, u-um . . ." I stutter out, not knowing what to say to his compliment.
"No need to be so nervous, you are surrounded by friends, now. Everyone in the league is family, after all. You did join, correct?" He says with a smile.
I nod my head quickly, scared of what he might do if I hesitate, even though he had said encouraging words just a few seconds ago
"Anyway, I take it Shigaraki told you about me giving you a quirk?"
I nod again, wondering how that's possible.
The question must have shown on my face, because he continues talking.
"I see you're confused at how that's possible. It's much easier to show you, rather than telling you, so come here," he finishes, reaching out a hand.
I step forward, and all I know is pain.
