-Deku's pov-

My eyes slowly open, revealing a hospital room. The blinds are open, letting the light illuminate the room. It's too bright for me, so I try to get up to close the blinds, but my ankles and arms are stopped by something.

I look down, and see chains holding me to the hospital bed. My eyes open in shock, and I start to struggle, trying to release myself from the chains.

My struggle is interrupted by a doctor walking into the room with a clipboard. Fear courses through me as I try to get as far away from him as possible. I'm not able to get off the bed though, because of the chains.

"Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you," the doctor says in a soothing voice, "I just need you to fill out a form, alright?" He finishes with a smile, holding out the clipboard and a pen.

I slowly reach out and grab it from him, still unsure of if I should trust him. I quickly fill out the form, the questions being easy. Things like, my name, my birthday, etc.

I give the clipboard back to him, and he leaves the room. I only sit there for a few seconds before a lot of people come into the room. Its my friends.

You don't have friends

They start talking to me, speaking over each other in the rush to ask me what happened.

I stare at them with wide eyes, overwhelmed by all the talking. Uraraka sees this, and tells everyone to be quiet.

"Deku-kun! I'm glad to know you're ok! I was so worried when I found you in that room! You acted kinda strange, though . . ." Uraraka says, causing me to look at her.

So she was the one that saved me . . . what did you do?

Nothing . . . except for trying to get the key to unlock the quirk cancelling bracelet.

I look down at my wrist, and see that the bracelet is still there. I frown, wondering where the key was right now.

I feel tapping on my shoulder, ripping me out of my thoughts. I head shoots up, startling Uraraka.

"Are you ok, deku-kun? You haven't said anything . . ." Uraraka says, worry plastered all over her face.

"U-um, yeah! Just shaken is all! D-do you know where the key is for this?" I say, lifting up my wrist, showing the bracelet.

"O-oh! Yeah. Aizawa sensei took it from me, because we didn't know if you were gonna freak out when you woke up . . . sorry," Uraraka says, an apologetic look on her face.

"It's fine! Just wanted to make sure no one lost it-" in cut off my a sharp pain in my head.

I put my head in my hands, trying to stop the waves of pain.

I want to talk to the girl

No! You might hurt her! I can't trust you!

"N-no . . .!" I say quietly, black forming at the corners of my vision.

I see my friends try to calm me down, and I try to get away from them, not wanting them to get hurt if the voice takes over.

The voice is too strong, and I go back to that void. Its different this time, though. I can hear everything. I don't have to strain my ears to catch a stray echo.

Do you want me to hear?

Yes.

I hear the voice start talking to my friends, and I listen closely, ready to try to take back control if needed.

-Uraraka's pov-

Deku-kun was in mid-sentence when he abruptly put his head in his hands, a look of pain on his face.

"N-no . . .!" I hear him say quietly, pain clear in his voice.

Me and my classmates try to calm him down, but he moves as far away as the chains would allow.

After a few seconds, his face relaxes, a smile forming on his face. He looks at me and starts talking.

"Well . . . we meet again. Remember me?" He says in chilling voice, sending shivers down my spine.

"You're not deku-kun. He would never act that way!" I say, tears forming in the corners of my eyes, worried about my friend.

"Oh, but I am him," he says, his grin growing wider,"I'm the result of fear and torture. Ah . . . should I tell you your sweet little deku-kun's secret? Hm . . . I think I will! He's a-" he cuts off abruptly, putting his head in his hands the same way he did before he started talking.

I don't want to see that painfull look on his face, so before he could stop me, I quickly wrap my arms around him in a hug.

I hear him gasp, and immediately starts hugging me back, apologizing while sobbing.

He slowly stops crying, and when I pull away, him eyes are closed. I lay him back down, and motion everyone to leave. They can see he fell asleep, so they listen to me and leave.

When we get out to the hallway, Aizawa sensei walks up to me, and I can see he has questions.

"Why are you all leaving so early? What happened?" He questions.

I explain what happened, and I see his face turn serious, more serious than it has before.

After I finish my explanation, he nods and allows me to leave.

I leave the hospital, and when I walk home, I think about what had happened. I tell myself not to worry, the heroes have him now, but I can't stop thinking about how much he cried. He seemed so . . . lost, and sad.

I'm too caught up in my thoughts, that I don't hear the footsteps behind me.

I barely have time to gasp before my airflow is cut off, and I'm being dragged backwards into a purple mist.

I feel a sharp pain, before purple fades to black.
