PART SIX

“Tweety!” Lola called out. “Tweety, this isn’t funny!”

Pika followed behind Lola, looking behind every tree and hill. “Do you think she’s doing this on purpose?” she asked with a loud sigh.

Lola shrugged. “Gosh, I don’t know anymore. She’s been gone for half the night and the start of today. I wouldn’t suggest giving up and going back inside, either. My mom’s furious.”

Pika rolled her eyes and took a seat on the ground. “Want a pork chop?”

Lola nodded and they both munched on pork as they looked around for any sign of her. “You don’t think she’d do this as a joke, right?” Lola asked.

“I don’t know. I doubt it, though. She seemed scared out of her wits at the start, so I don’t think playing a joke would be the first thing that came into her mind. She’s probably lost.” Pika replied as she finished up her pork chop.

“We need to think of a plan, or we might never find her. Got any ideas?”

Pika put a finger on her chin and thought for a moment. “What if we retrace our steps? Well, her steps, rather.”

Lola shrugged. “Let’s give it a shot. I’ll be Tweety.” She walked over to where Tweety had been when she killed the zombie. “So…she killed the zombie.”

Pika nodded. “And then she killed the…” Pika trailed off, her mouth hanging open. “She didn’t come back after she killed the creeper, did she?”

Lola cupped her face in her hands and gave a loud sigh. “I told her to go get the droppings, didn’t I?”

Pika gave her a pat on the back. “It’s sad, but this isn’t the time for mourning. She might not be dead—”

“Okay, Pika! Just stop.” Lola snapped, hugging her knees to her chest. “She was my little sister. Let’s just stop for a moment.”

Pika was speechless for a few moments before she shook her head. “Lola, I know this is hard, but it would be even worse if she is out there and you don’t have the drive to investigate. I don’t know about you, but I’m going.” As soon as she said that, Pika took off sprinting toward the mountain.

She soon reached the mountain and looked around. “There’s got to be something.” She muttered to herself as she looked around. Soon, there was a tap on her shoulder. Lola stood behind her, holding her arm out and pointing to a small tunnel in the base of the mountain, just big enough for a player to go through.
