Carter's POV*
"Don't forget your bathing suit!" My mom yelled from the kitchen. I shoved my white bikini into my luggage then slipped the strap over my shoulder.
"Okay mom. I really have to go now!" I yelled back. She walked into the room and put her hands on her hips, a dirty dish towel in her right hand from doing the dishes.
"Alright. I cannot believe my baby is going on vacation alone. My baby is growing up." She said, tears pooling in her light eyes. I let out a small laugh at her silly reaction. I was an eighteen year old girl. I didn't need my 'mommy' anymore.
"Mom, I will only be gone for two months. Im 18, not your baby anymore." I replied while forcing smile upon my mothers face.
"I know, I'm just being that annoying mom. What if something happens and I'm not there?" My mom fiddled with the dish rag in her hands while I placed my hands on her shoulders to reassure her I would be okay.
"Gabbie is going to be there too. I love you, but I seriously have to go." I said as Gabbie honked the horn from outside, signaling we had to leave. I engulfed my mother into a tight hug as she kissed the top of my head. When I was released from her grasp, I picked up the rest of my bags and headed outside, pausing in my doorway. I turned around to face my mother and gave her a smile.
"I will be fine. I love you." I reassured her again. She has always worried about me and my siblings, ever since we were very little. I think in her mind, she has this idea that since she couldn't protect us from our father's absence, she has to protect us from everything else. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely grateful for my mother. She can just be suffocating at times.
"I love you too." She replied with a smile and a wave. Gabbie's horn sounded again and I rolled my eyes while rushing down the stairs. I was a step out the front door before I was stopped again by my younger sister.
"Carter!" She squealed, her arms opened wide for me. I swiftly picked her up, hugging her tightly and kissing her forehead.
"I'll be back in two months. I love you Abby." I said while placing her back on her little feet.
"Bye Aaron, bye Lea." I waved goodbye to my twin siblings, Lea and Aaron who were now standing in the doorway along with Abby and my mother. I jogged over to Gabbie's black jeep, shoving my bags in the back and hopping into the passenger seat and strapping my seat belt across my lap.
"It's about damn time." Gabbie started the car, with Empty Gold by Halsey blasting through her poor car's speakers. I'm surprised she hasn't blown one by how loud she plays her music. As we pulled away from my house, my siblings waved goodbye and in a second we were gone, beginning our journey to our vacation spot.
Niall's POV*
"You can't just leave me here alone in this dump!" I yelled to Harry as he shut the car door in my face.
"It's for your own good, mate. Use this time to clear your head and lose the attitude. Besides, Zayn is here to help you. His girlfriend is coming down. Try to enjoy yourself." Harry replied, trying to lift my spirits.
"Oh great. She's probably bringing her stupid friends." I don't need annoying girls all around me every second of my 'vacation' or what I like to call my vacation from hell.
Zayn stepped out of the car lifting his luggage and placing it on the dirt ground.
"Actually, she's bringing a new friend. I think her name is Carter or something like that." Zayn added to Harry's statement.
I rolled my eyes at how he was trying to make me accept the fact I had to spend two months in this bug infested camp.
Harry threw my bags out of the car through his open window and shifted the car into drive.
"See you in two months!" He exclaimed, then sped off into the distance, leaving Zayn and I in a trail of bugs and dust.
"Well come on. You don't want your bags too dirty." Zayn said, picking up his bags.
I rolled my eyes then grabbed my bags and followed Zayn towards one of the old cabins. He opened the creaky screen door and walked right into a spiderweb, spitting it out of his mouth in a coughing fit.
"No worries, I'm fine." He said with a smile.
Zayn threw his bags on the bed that was positioned on the left side of the room. The only other objects that occupied the small quarters was a tiny kitchen area, my bed and a small bathroom. It was dusty inside and dark and I could basically feel the bugs crawling on me. I sat down on my bed, throwing my luggage next to me.
"Lets get some air in here eh? It is a little hot down here in Virginia." Zayn said. He lifted the window open, causing one of the pieces of it to snap in half.
"Um, we will fix that later." He replied, propping the window open with a wooden stick.
Zayn grabbed a broom and started sweeping the dirt out of the cabin until the sound of tires on gravel sounded outside. I stood up and looked out the screen door to see who had arrived.
Two girls stepped out of a black jeep. First was Zayn's girlfriend Gabbie who I could recognize a mile away with her obnoxiously bleached hair and fake tan. Her unnatural hair ended at her too skinny of a waist and her fake green eyes were set on the lake.
Then someone new emerged from the car. A petite girl glanced around, taking in her surroundings. Her light brown hair had soft curls at the ends that landed around her mid back. She was noticeably smaller then Gabbie and had wolf-like eyes that met mine from across the camp.
"That would be the girls!" Zayn exclaimed, breaking me out of my trance as I studied the new girl. What was her name? Carmen?
Zayn set the broom down and ran outside towards his girlfriend. Once she saw him, her entire face lit up. He picked up Gabbie and spun her around like a rag doll then shook the other girl's hand.
"Niall, mate. Come on out and say hello." Zayn yelled from outside.
I walked down the steps and said my bitter hello to Gabbie, completely ignoring the new girl.
"Hey I'm Carter." The new one said. She extended her hand out towards me and flashed me a bright toothed smile.
"I'm Niall."
