The next day, May dropped me off at my home while she did some chores. I met Millie at the front door. She had a confused look on her face when she say May.
"Who was that?" She asked, her eyebrow raised.
"That's May," I say. I wait for questions, but she doesn't say anything, so I instead unlock the door and walk in with Millie behind me.
"I feels like I haven't been here in ages but it's only been there days," I say. "Where will everything go when I leave?"
Millie turns around immediately when I say that.
"Leave? Are you saying Sierra Jeanie Moore, that your leaving me behind? Your leaving me with the other idiots? What the hell, S. When were you going to tell me this? Huh?! Were you just gonna leave and not tell me? Where are you moving to?" Millie takes a breathe and looks around, noticing the quiet. "Where's the rest of the crazy children? And Lily and Jason? Sierra? Where is everyone? Wait! Your supposed to be in Europe right now! Did you decide to come back? Sierra, please explain what's happening before I-"
I interrupt her and I turn the TV on to the news and push her on the couch.
"Watch the news more often, Millie. Then you'd understand." I quickly walk out of the room and head upstairs to my bedroom and into my bathroom. Immediately after I shut the bathroom door and lick it, my tears come rushing out.
A few minutes later, I unlock it when I hear my bedroom door open and close. Then the bathroom door opens and Millie walks in, tears flowing down her cheeks and she sits in the tub next to me.
"I-I'm s-sorry, S. I d-didn't know. I-I'm sorry!" She hugs me tightly and we cry together. We sat there for maybe 30 minutes and then we parted.
I looked at Millie. "I'm leaving until I'm 21, Mil. Living with the Freeman family. I don't know when I'll be back, but I'll call and text and gossip and everything everyday. Plus, maybe during breaks, you could come visit. But right now, I need to pack and you need to help me because I have 7 days I until I leave," I explain. Millie nods and walks towards my closet.
(Sierra's bedroom)
I grab a random shirt and shorts and got change in my bathroom.
I walk out, holding my laundry basket of dirty clothes. I had two suitcases full already that had been dropped off from the accident.(😑) I had boxes that I started putting my belongings in. Millie packed all my clothes and started helping me. We were halfway done when the doorbell rang. I quickly got up, and ran down the stairs to answer it.
I opened the door and May stood there, on her phone, typing again. She looked up when I opened it and smiled.
"Hi, darling. Are you still packing with Millie? Or are you done?" She asks, walking in.
"We're almost done. Probably about another day or two. Then I'll be done," I explain, grabbing an apple from the hanging basket.
Millie walks down stairs with two more suitcases in hand and leaves them with the other four.
"Done! Now we just have to finish packing your shit into boxes, tape them, and bring them down."
"Thanks, Millie," I give her a hug and grab another apple and give that to her. "Your a great friend. I'm gonna invite the others over and see if they can help us with the rest. I didn't even know I had all this stuff, not gonna lie."
May laughs. "Honey, you'll have more than just this stuff when you live with me. All of this will probably fit half of your room."
I look at her with my eyes wide and mouth wide open. "Wait, what? Wow! That's big! Wait but don't you have kids? Are their rooms the same size or theirs smaller or bigger? Wow. And you said six or seven?"
May chuckled. "Seven."
"Do you have boys and girls or just boys or girls?" Millie asked.
"Seven boys. Well, technically, six boys and one adopted boy. But, yes, still seven boys," May said, looking at Millie.
"Wow. How do you manage?"
"Well, we have quite a big house. So we needed some help so we hired Nanny's and cooks and cleaners and tutors and lots of other people. My husband and I can't take care of seven boys and work at the same time," May explained.
"How old are the boys? Like from oldest to youngest?" I asked, joining the conversation.
"Well, there's Tyler. He's 18, a senior this year. Then there's Gavin. He's 16, a Junior. Then Blake and Michael. Both of them are 15 and are Freshman. Lucas, he's 12 and in 6th. Jake, he's 10, in 5th and then there's Matt and he's 5 and he's in kindergarten," May explained.
I suddenly felt overwhelmed with all that information. "You can tell the difference between the boys right?"
"Yes, definitely. Well, except for the twins... It's hard to tell the difference between them... But their personalities are very different which you can tell that apart, so yes."
