Chapter 2: The Truth Reveals – Chizuru Yukimura

After they agree on to adressing each others with their first name...

"Haruka..."

"Hm?"

"I don't want to die. I can't die now, not when I need to find my father."

"Your father...is Kodo Yukimura, correct?"

"Yes! Do you know him? Do you know where he is?"

"Hold on, hold on. If you are Kodo's daughter, then I believe you should explain to me with the rest of the leaders."

"But I don't know how I'm supposed to convince them, though. They're not like you."

Haruka smiles. "Would you still consider trusting me even when I haven't told you my secret?"

"I...I...well...yes..."

"Hm? What's the reason why?'

"You have some kind of pure presence and a kind personality."

"Like Hijikata says before, you haven't seen what I can really do. Anyway, back to your situation. They're probably thinking you're from Kyoto. And, if you explain your situation to the guys, they might reconsider the killing option and think of something else."

"And I haven't told them that I'm a girl."

Haruka laid her back on the wall at the left with her in between her legs and her shoulder. "So, are you going to do it?"

"Do what?"

"Get their attention."

"I...I...I can't do this!" Chizuru stand up.

Haruka stand up. "Huh? Hey, wait-!"

And Chizuru start to run for it when the door was flew open all on its own, revealing...

Isami Kondou. "What?!"

"Aah!" Chizuru stumbled straight into Kondou.

Haruka notice the leaders were there. "Hey, guys."

"Oh my...Well, that was rather bold. You meant to run away, I assume? Even when Haruka is company you?" Sanan gives Haruka a disappointed look. "I expected much more from you, Haruka...But to let this kid slip from you."

Haruka grunt in anger. "Just caught me off guard, that's all."

Sanan looked at Chizuru. "Anyway, trying to run was not wise. It will only make your situations more difficult," Sanan finished.

"I told you once, and I won't do it again. Run, and I'll gut you," Hijikata said, voice low fill with quiet rage.

"Sorry, but now we're got to kill you. We can't trust a kid who can't keep a promise." Okita smiles, but he was not happy.

Chizuru was scared, thinking about running for it. Haruka raise an arm in front of Chizuru, blocking her from running forward and from the guys.

Chizuru was surprise. "Ha-Haruka!"

Haruka glanced at Chizuru with a serious look. "Chizuru, I think it would be best if you explain, no?"

"Haruka..." Chizuru couldn't say what's on her mind.

Haruka's eyes soften and give Chizuru a kind smile. "I promise they won't hurt you if you explain your situation."

"You promise, Haruka?"

Haruka let her arm fall to her side as she turns around to face Chizuru. "I promise, Chizuru."

"Hey now, you have been talking with...Chizuru?" Nagakura said.
