They made it back to camp late, as excited as everyone seemed to be earlier, they found everyone fast asleep. Deciding to save the excitement for the morning, they both parted ways for the night. Waking early in the morning, Toph jumped out of bed excited to share the news with everyone.

Gathered around the campfire, it was a regular meeting place and would continue to be in the coming weeks. Aang was the most eager, hopping around in his seat like a kid wanting a piece of candy.

"Come on, come on, you guys are alive so let's hear the news!"

"Gee thanks twinkle-toes, thanks again for staying up to make sure we made it back-"

"About that..."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Well guys, Sokka and I are one step closer to finding out what we need to, but it's going to take some work-"

She could just feel Sokka's eyes on her, locked on heavy. She hadn't forgotten the previous night, how could she? She knew it wasn't a dream, it really happened. Feeling his lips on her own, for real this time, he knew it was her and it still happened. Toph could feel her face getting hot, she shook away the thought trying her best to focus on what was important.

"-The man we talked to seemed to believe our story, he wants us back there again tonight to meet a few of his 'friends', I'm guessing we won't be getting much sleep for a while."

The whole gang was pleased with the outcome, all excited that they were a step in the right direction. It was going to take time, an ongoing project that could collapse and fail at any time. There were a lot of negatives plain in the air, more than the positives at this point. But even if they did fail, it was an excuse to be forced to spend more time with Sokka.

Spending time with him was making it harder to forget. Harder to accept the fact that it would never work out, harder to realize the more her feelings intensified for him, the harder it would be to make this mission a success. She always strived being good under pressure, being able to manipulate even the most stubborn of people into believing whatever she wanted them to. Her feelings would definitely make it harder.

They couldn't slip up, not even for a moment. Toph was strong, stubborn, never giving up even if it seemed impossible to accomplish.

Both Toph and Sokka were as tense as ever, worried about the night ahead of them. They couldn't even imagine what to expect at this point. The rest of the gang quickly picked up on this, trying to keep things lighthearted around camp. Letting the two take a day off, the others spent the day hard at work, training amongst each other to prepare for the inevitable.

Hours passed by and as the sun set, the girl knew it was time to leave. Nudging Sokka to let him know, the two set off on the same newly familiar path. Things were off between them, no sarcastic comments from either one. They walked in silence, a slower pace than usual. She was nervous, feeling it in the pit of her stomach. It felt weird being around Sokka, having to do this stupid mission with him. And knowing how badly things could go wrong, it only made her anxiety worse.

A few minutes of silence passed by, seeming as if it were years. Eventually Sokka couldn't hold it any longer, he could never be a quiet person, always so loud and bubbly.

"The sky looks pretty cool tonight-"

"Yes it does Sokka, yes it does-"

"S-Sorry, sorry.... just trying to make conversation-"

"At least you tried."

That was enough conversation for now. The closer they got to the building the more her stomach hurt. She could feel Sokka shaking, he must of been just as nervous as her, maybe even more. He was never one to be able to keep his mouth shut in bad situations. That did worry her, but she had enough trust in him to know he wouldn't risk their lives for it.

Target within reach, she sighed muttering under her breath, "Alright, game time."

Bursting open the door, they were greeted by the same voice as last night, multiple strange figures filling the buildings walls, they were all together. They were definitely outnumbered if things took a turn for the worst.

"Aha! The sneaky little spies have arrived-"
