Jackson didn't seem to hold any grudges for the split lip the next day. I was positive he would and should have held a grudge for it. Instead, he said good morning when he dropped off just Rosie.

"Wheres Zev?"
"Sleeping still."
"It is ok to leave him alone?"
"He's on the grounds, I have a smaller section, All the underbosses do, Even your father."
"That's news to me."
"I suppose it would be, you hardly leave his highnesses locked dungeon."

Jackson was right, I did hardly leave the area where Maddox's private area was located. It was a safe spot and honestly, I felt no need to be leaving.

"Will Zev be joining the princess and me this afternoon?"
"Probably not, Maddox gave him the option of having a small office in the medic wing for something to do. Last I heard he was going to make the space his own today so he could have some sense of normal again."
"Oh, that was really nice of Maddox. I had no clue."
"Yeah, He really made Zev's day."

Jackson gave Rosie a kiss before he left. Rosie came back shortly after I turned the tv on for her, she wanted to play outside. Honestly, that seemed like a really good idea. Getting dressed quickly I slipped on a pair of the many flipflops I had but never wore. Walking down the hall I passed my father and he had to stop and do a double-take.

"Nice to see you out and about."
"Wheres the safest place to take Rosie outside?"
"There a private backyard with a pool and stuff for the kids, though you don't leave Maddox's area so you wouldn't know."

Rosie seemed to know where Cade was talking about because she pulled me through the house until we reached a set of doors leading outside, that I was pretty sure id never seen. Rosie ran to play on some slides and in the sandbox. It was interesting to see all the other kids and parents with children that were here. It was pretty clear they were sneaking looks. No one any moves to talk to me they just talked amongst themselves. It was a really odd feeling.

Walking to where Rosie was playing she was building a sandcastle by herself. I sat down outside of the sandbox.

"What are we building princess?"
"Castle."
"We are building your castle! Oh boy, it has to be the largest and prettiest thing in all the land."
"Yes!"
"Let us do it then! Let us build a castle even Uncle Maddox would want."
"Yeah!"

We got to build the largest sandcastle we could get before it got to warm outside and I was worried about Rosie getting a sunburn. Walking hand in hand with Rosie we stepped out of the way so others could pass us. We bumped into Alexi, He stepped out of an office right into us.

"Oh, my bad."
"All good, right Rosie?"
"All good."
"Look how big you are now Rosie! Almost a grown-up."

We stayed and chatted with Alexi for a few moments, but I didn't want to hold him up so I told Rosie we had to hurry and get back so we go make lunch for Daddy and Uncle Maddox. Creed was the next one we bumped into. He just nodded and went along his way.

"Wait!"

He turned around clearly annoyed but waited anyway.

"I know you must be really busy and I forget to ask Alexi when I just saw him, but could you ask him to make sure some sunscreen gets bought. I would like Rosie and the other kids to have some."
"I see what I can do."
"Im sorry for bothering you."
"Its no problem."

He walked away without another word. He was probably on his way to find Alexi now. He was hopelessly obsessed with the damn guy. Rosie and I got back to the room moments before Maddox and Jackson did. Rosie ran to her daddy when he came in and told him all about the sandcastle we made in the backyard. Jackson listened intently to everyone one of her words, He gave her the best stretched out emotions all the time. It made me happy to see him so invested in making sure she was happy. I watched Maddox snag a cookie and give it to Rosie telling her to go eat it on the living room floor. I shook my head at Maddox, He was also really good with her, he would be a good father someday if he wanted to, adoption was always an option.

Maddox helped me make the wraps for lunch, He was really skilled with a kitchen knife, the cucumber slices were all uniform and perfect. It was mildly impressive, but not surprising. Bringing the wraps and the veggies to the table we all dug in and enjoyed lunch, Maddox gave Jackson the rest of the day off again to spend with Rosie. I was proud of him.

"Thank you."
"I did it for him, He needs to spend some time with his daughter sometime."
"That's very selfless of you."
"Is it?"
"Yes."
"I think you spend too much time with the good doctor he's rubbing off on you."

I started to laugh, He was right. Zev and I did spend a lot of time together, so much so that we had started taking on each other's mannerisms and whatnot.  I could see what he was talking about with Maddox, Maddox did shop for Black or White things that were clean and modern. Sleek and sharp. Well, I bought things that I felt complemented the space, Like red pillows that matched the cups, and plates.

Maddox leaned over and kissed my forehead.

"Once all this shit's over I would like to spend a week or more at the beach house before it gets too cold out there."
"I'll go if I can drive?"
"We will see."
"I know how to drive it."
"I am aware, Little shit."
"I prefer The Little Shit. Thank you."
