Fate had finally brought them together again, but when he walked through her door he saw the worst possible sight. She was lying on the floor brutally beaten, and Luke was passed out on the sofa drunk. Tears streamed down his face as he bent down to the floor to check on her. She was still alive, but her heart was barely beating. He called 911, and the ambulance took her away. Lucas would be going to jail for a very long time.
When she woke up, he was right beside her. From that day forward, he promised to be the man she wanted him to be.
Everything they wanted in life, they got. Nothing was perfect, but it was perfect for them.
