A Night to Remember

Having had their fill of cake, cookies, and ice cream the girls deamed it worthy to have a sleepover to end their perfect day.It seemed like everyone had already had it in mind because everyone had pulled out their pajamas JJ with her shells, Rosalina with her sakura petals, and Amber with her normal brown and white dotted each happily wearing their new found gifts.

"Ok let me be the first to say" Rosalina started and she jumped up on the bed and looked down at the girls sitting on the floor like preaching to a church. "That this has been the very best birthday ever!"

"You know" Amber said laying on her back as she stared up quizzically at the ceiling "I think it's going to be pretty awesome from here on out you guys" she continued with her thought with eyes closed and a deep breath leaving her chest. " I dont know what it is but something about this night is different than any other its just magical you guys" and she meant it. Something made her feel like, her life along with her friend's were going to change forever from tonight on. As the slumber party kicked off they all snuggled into a huge comforter that smelled of sweet perfume and sea salt. It was all very relaxing, the wind and rain gently pitter-pattering against the window. With a movie playing they nestled into the warm confines of the plush blanket. Of course at any party everyone needs drinks right? So Amber slowly rose to her feet, stretched, and headed towards the door.

When she returned she had a small tray in hand carrying a drink for her and her friends, sparkling water for Rosalina because 'she liked the fizz.' For jessica it was hot chocolate, poor thing always shivered when the rain came. It only seemed to get worse as the rain began to beat upon the rooftop loudly in a down pour.

"when had it gotten so cold? Hey Rosalina are you cold at all or is it just me?" She wondered to her friend who looked at her with a cocked eyebrow in question.

"Im fine Jess, I feel pretty warm" Rosalina replied her eyes scanning the room incase of a opened window or place of draft but of course there was none. Amry had said it was just her anemia but it still seemed odd to Jessica that it would only act up while raining. She was starting to wonder if she had anemia at all. She had simply given up the thought and concluded that the moisture in the air had given her the chills again. It was only when Amber returned that she had forgotten about her chills.

"Alrighty! I have Sparkling water for Rosalina, green tea for me and a extra hot chocolate for JJ" she could work in the resturaunt business, the way she remembered so easily and she even carried the tray like she was a cocktail waitress busting tables at some highend place.

"Thank you" Jessica said as she cooled off her drink as quickly as she could. The warm drink felt like silk in her mouth and she could feel the warmth all theway down to her very core, finally that annoying chill was gone.

"Youre the best" Rosalina chimed in cbeerfully already almost done with her fizzy water.

"Are you just now figuring that out?" From tbat cocky comment came a light chuckle that was uniquly Amber and everyone started laughing in a fit of happiness that caused the girls to momentarily forget about their surroundings and Rosalina, being the natural clutz she was, had leaned forward forgetting the drink in her hand and it toppled, spilling all over Jessica earning a audible gasp and a light squeal from poor JJ.

"Im so sorry!" Rosalinas face was pure horror when she had seen the giant spot on her friemds shirt.

"It's fine Rose, its just a shirt" she was still irritated though, couldnt they make it through one night without Rosalina spilling something? Ugh. But it wasnt all that bad really, she just slowly got up, grabbed a plain black tank top off the bed and walked to her bathroom. She stood on the fuzzy blue bathmat and pulled off her pajama top slowly and tossed it up to hang on the shower railing to dry for the night. When she had pulled her shirt down she turned to glance in the mirror and just as her shirt fell to her waist Jessica had caught a glimpse of something...something that shone like metallic foil. With furrowed eyebrows she slowly took up the hem of her shirt and right at her pants waistline she could see a blue shine coming from under her shirt. "What is that...?" She whispered to herself as she rain her fingers over where her stomach was supposed to be but she just felt...what... scales? Couldnt be....but they were. She was startled and she let go of her top letting it fall right back in place and shook her head in disbelief despite of what she had just seen. Maybe that water shocked her more than she thought or maybe it just woke her up.

"JJ you took a really long time in the bathroom, youre not sick are you?" Amber asked as her friend walked back into the bedroom. Jessica had put her hand over her stomach subconciously feeling for the scales. They were gone.

"Huh? Yeah im cool dude" she said with a light smiled before sitting down back in her spot on the floor, though throughout the whole night she couldnt help but to keep repeating the event over in her mind and all she could think was... it felt so real.
