Growing Pains
As hours passed and night turned to the morning sun the girls had risen early from their slumber to wash and prepare for breakfast, but Jessica, had chosen to wait until everyone was dressed and downstairs before she even touched a wash rag. For obvious reasons. While Amber and Rosalina packed up and waited for Jessica by the back door, She came down and smiled at her friends who awaited to say their good-bye.
" Thanks for coming over you guys!" she said quietly and suddenly enveloping them in her warm loving embrace. "You're the best" said Jessica grinning.
They looked at each other then at jessica holding out their pinky fingers.
"Till next time" the three voices came in unison as they wrapped their pinkies around one another. Amber and Rosalina turned and headed out the back door with a smiling, waving, Jessica bidding them farewell in the door way. Onto the sand they went where they soon parted ways toward their own houses down farther on the shore line. Although they both had their safe way home, Amber didnt stay home. Instead she headed to this forest a few feet away fromt the beach near her house on the sand shelf was a small forest, not to small but big enough to be classified as such. She set her bag down right by the main path to mark her way home and then went off on her own like she always does.
In the quiet harmony of the forest the only sound was the jingling of her bracelet and the soft hums coming from Amber as she walked along enjoying her quiet and the distance sound of waves behind her growing dim as she traveled into the further. Every so often she would glance at ehr new bracelet and smile, it just made her so happy, so at peace. Before she had realized she had found herself twirling and leaping down the path, eyes closed, like a faerie returning to her woodland bound home. She hummed a song of old day that her grandmother and her great grandmother sung before her. It was so beautiful, so primal.
Finally, her eyes opened and she had stopped exactly where she wanted to be. The one place her heart was led to. It was a very old tree that had twisted branches expanding in all directions as if it meant to hug everything surrounding it. With a loud relaxed sigh she sat on one of the branches and with another deep breath she sat up straight. The breath must have been way to sharp because when she sat up she felt a tingle and itch at her back which soon turned into a sudden sting.
" I think this beach air is irritating my skin..." Amber said as she scratched at her back with rounded long nails and sighed. Obviously this would keep her from enjoying her hike so she just traveled back up the path, grabbed her bag and darted home. The problem is, the closer she got to her home, the more intense pain struck her back. It wasnt even a itching sting anymore it was a full blown burning sensation under the surface of her skin. Was she breaking out? She could have sworn she felt bumps on her skin, but she had never had a breakout on her back before.
She basically busted through her door only to run upstairs to her room. She turned on her pink flower lamps that had green vine shaped stems and before she could take another step she sudden collapsed on her bed. Clutching at the emerald green sheets she writhed in utter pain and agnoy at the pain in her back. A scream rumbled from her depths and came up in a blood curdling pitch, the pain had become so great that in seconds everything went black and she passed out, her head landing on her pillow, face burning red from her prior experience. It wouldnt be too long before she woke up, but when she did who knows what would be in store for the young girl.
The sharp pain had lessened but it was still there none the less, and thats what woke her up. With dazed eyes opening, darting from corner to corner of her room before she fianlly sat up after a short unconsciousness and winced realizing that what happened was not her imagination like she had hoped. She reached back to touch exactly where the pain was coming from, thats when she felt it, or them.
