"..Why aren't you in a hospital bed? They didn't kick me that hard, did they?" I raised a brow, confused. I know I would be in pain for a couple of days, but it wasn't anything the doctors could fix.
"Ash, that-" I heard Luke take a breath. "That's not why you're in here, Ash. They did a cat-scan to see if you had a concussion or not. You don't, but.." Luke was biting his lip at this point, and Ashton was even more confused. Why did Luke mean? Ashton was perfectly fine. Well, his head hurt from those boys, but like Luke said, it wasn't what he was here for.
"They said you have cancer, Ash."
--------------------"What? Cancer? No..I have never even shown any signs of cancer, before. They're wrong." I started to panic. None of this made sense. If I really had cancer, I would've known about it, right? Exactly.
"How long have I had it?" I stared at Luke, trying to get an answer.
"They said about six to eight months.." Luke closed his eyes for a moment, suddenly, filling with anger. "Why didn't you tell me, Ashton?! Why didn't you try to see a doctor? You could've been dead in a couple of months if it wasn't for me! Hell, you still might be dead in a couple of months, thanks to yourself." Luke was raising his voice, but soon slapped a hand over his mouth. "Ashton, I.."
"No. Just stop, Luke. Go." I felt a mix of emotions wash over me. "It's fine, just..I need a while to get used to this, Come back in a couple of days.."
Luke mumbled what sounded like 'I'm sorry' before exiting the room.
