I sobbed while typing this, my nose ran and everything. So enjoy this. See ya at the end.
"Good people die for bad reasons; bad people live good lives. There is no God, if there is well... ignorance is bliss." -
Chapter 11
It will never be the same. Irma was scarred for life.
Her vision was blurry as she watched the two figures fights like savages in front of her, not paying any attention to the old woman's lifeless body. Anais made a mistake of taking a glance at the small girl in the corner, her red hair standing out among her body. Her distraction allowed Yasumori's subordinate to land a round house kick to her face and a blow in gut making her tumble over. "No!" Irma cried as she went to care for her friend.
"I think I found leverage."
"Leave her alone-
"Get away," Anais grunted wiping blood from her mouth. "Get out of here. Leave."
"No, I won't leave you." Irma cried her lips quivering as she tried to help the woman up. The man came and kicked Anais in her stomach making her fall back down to the ground.
"No! Stop! Leave her!"
"Get away from me!" Anais shouted pushed the girl away in disgust. Anais forced everything in her body not to feel this pain but she had to. She was weakening and distracted because of this girl.
"No need to be so harsh Anais," The man said making Irma stand and wrapping his huge arm around her neck. "I could use her."
Anais eyes widened she grunted standing up. "This is between me and you leave her out of it."
"Now," he sighed pulling out a blade and scratching his head, "You know... I would but, she seems troubled. I just want to end her misery. I'll be doing her a favor." He pressed the blade down on her collar bone drawing a little blood. She whimpered as his arm tightened around her throat, lifting her a little up off the ground.
Anais took a quick glance at the blade in his hand before returning her gaze to meet his. She steps forward and the subordinate takes a shaky step back. "I suggest you stay where you are if you want her to live."
Anais shrugs. "Kill her then. She was a hassle anyways. I no longer need her."
Irma gushes into tears her heart swelling with the reality of the situation.
"You're bluffing."
"Call it." Anais croaked, stepping forward.
The subordinate shook his head and took another step back. He stepped on a piece of shattered glass and it scared him making him look down at it. Anais took the chance to charge at him. His blade sliced Irma wrist as Anais pulled her from his hold and onto the floor. Anais threw a kicked to his groin and kneed him in his face sending him backwards into the hallway. "You didn't call it."
With that Anais slipped a blade from between her fingers and gracefully slit his throat. She examined his body and realized his hand was in his pocket. She pulled out a button from his pocket and hissed under her breath.
Irma was lying on the ground, her vision foggy and her arm bleeding furiously. "Irma?" Anais called picking up the girls arms. She felt something being wrapped around it and applied pressure that made her whimper. Anais forced the girl up and out of the apartment before other subordinates came.
They got out of the apartment building and on the outside where the winds were calm and the streets were quiet. Anais eyes feverishly looking around for any suspicious movement or activity. The street lights were still on illuminating her path as she remembered the abandoned building she'd seen on the walk earlier with the redhead.
