Avery's POV
The next day, we begin Sikowitz's class with a drive-by acting exercise. "You're all angry Englishman. Go!"
"I insist you tell me who sat on me crumpet."
"My grandmummy went to the loo while I snogged the prime minister."
"This flock of whipperwils is bothering my trousers."
"Good heavens, there's a dead cockroach in my brassier."
"Blimey!"
"Well, I told you not to put plum sauce on me banger! You, you, you..."
"All right, all right, very good, quiet down. Now that we're all loosey and/or goosey, the time has come for our two newest students to tackle..." The class starts stomping their feet. "The bird scene!" Sebastian wishes me luck.
"Tori, the stage is yours. However, you can't take it home. Avery, go wait outside." Sikowitz orders.
Before I leave, I heard Tori ask, "Can I ask you a few questions before I start? So..."
Sikowitz cuts her off by saying, "Just do your best."
I close the door and wait patiently outside.

Nervous about the bird scene!
Mood - nervous 😬

After a few minutes, Tori marches out with a sour look on her face. "Your turn," she grumbles.
I walk on stage and look around. Everyone was looking at me, expectantly. I made eye contact with Seb, and he smiles at me.
"Whenever you're ready, Avery."
I took a deep breath and put on my best southern accent. "It was 1934 when my husband left me. Alone, living on the prairie was a dreary existence. No telephone, no radio. Only a large, majestic bird with whom I shared my feelings. One day when I was feeling low, I said to him, 'Oh bird, you can fly. You can soar miles from this lonely place, yet you stay. Why?' And apparently, my question rang true, for that afternoon, the bird left. And so went my spirit." I finished, and people lightly clapped.
I went to go sit down on my chair when Sikowitz stopped me. "You aren't going to ask how you did?"
I turned and faced him. "Why should I listen to your opinion when you weren't the one to perform the scene. And besides, you gave us a blank paper for us to interpret, and that's how I interpreted the scene." I stated confidently.
