Philippe took (Y/N) to an empty table as everyone was shocked that (Y/N) was apparently his niece. All the girls heard about it because Carlotta can't keep her gob quiet. After a while, Phillippe asked if (Y/N) would sing just as Erik arrived outside wearing his normal attire with a cape and fedora. (Y/N) went up on the mini stage and started singing as Erik gladly listened in the shadows outside.

Carlotta gave her opinion on (Y/N)'s voice only to be asked if she would join. Not by (Y/N) of course. Carlotta went up and tried to drown her out, much to Erik's disappointment and annoyance. (Y/N) soon managed to annoy Carlotta with her voice so she gave up and sat back down. Erik was so proud of her that he actually cracked a smile. Everyone applauded (Y/N).  Choleti signed her up to go onstage but Carlotta being jealous told him to put her in the chorus.

"Did I tell you she was wonderful?" Phillippe asked Gerard introducing the two.

"Wonderful doesn't begin to describe the beauty of that voice," Gerard said, "I am Gerard Carriere, former manager of the opera house."

"Oh, of course," (Y/N) said as Gerard kissed her hand.

A quick look at Erik outside, Jean-Claude caught him in the shadows but disappeared. Confused,  Jean-Claude went inside. Back to (Y/N) and that.

"Not only is your voice astonishing but it reminded me of someone I was privileged to know years ago, a great singer, Pellidore," (Y/N) smiled not knowing who Gerard was talking about, "I don't suppose you've ever heard of her."

"No," (Y/N) answered.

"Well, no matter. Go and enjoy your success."

(Y/N) and Phillippe left as Jean-Claude told Gerard about Erik outside. Gerard looked out the window seeing Erik who disappeared into the shadows again and Gerard told Jean-Claude there was no one there. Some of the girls came out in dance dresses and started to dance so Phillippe took (Y/N) away to his coach. Erik watched the two drive away either shocked, sad or both, you never know.

Knowing (Y/N) wouldn't be coming back anytime soon, he went back to the opera house. Phillippe took (Y/N) to a nearby lake as Erik waited in the practice room and Carlotta came back asking where (Y/N) was. Jean-Claude told her she wasn't there so Carlotta told him to tell her when she came back. Carlotta paced around waiting for (Y/N) to return.

Though Carlotta couldn't sing, she knew full well someone was teaching (Y/N) because no one can sing the song she sang that night without lessons because apparently, God won't allow it. Phillippe and (Y/N) were in a rowboat on the lake and Phillippe was trying to figure out if he's seen her before.

"Why do I keep thinking I've met you before?" Phillippe asked, "and I thought the instance I saw you at that country fair I even thought I recognized your voice. Am I dreaming?"

"No more than I," (Y/N) replied, "don't you remember the little girl in the kitchen?"

*flashback*

(Y/N) and her father worked in the kitchen of Phillippe's home when they were both children. Phillippe's mother was a strict old bat while her son was nothing like her. Over time, the two children became friends. Her father would play the violin, Phillippe would play a wooden flute and (Y/N) would sing while everyone listened. One day, they were playing in the gardens when Phillippe's mother saw them and called Phillippe over. That day, (Y/N) and her father were sent away. The two would never see each other again.

*end of flashback*

When they got back to land, Phillippe started kissing her starting with her hands, to her lips and finally her neck all the while Erik was alone sad and worried about his (Y/N).

(A/N: do you think Phillippe is really in love with (Y/N) or does he just believe he is?)
