I couldn't see a single thing. Everywhere I looked, everywhere I turned my head, was pitch black. I had never before seen a shade of black so dark in my life, not even when I shut my eyes. There were no windows in the auditorium, and none of the lights were working whatsoever - lights from other rooms weren't even shining through underneath the doors. It was as if the electricity in this building had just disappeared, malfunctioned, and no longer worked. My sense of sight had completely left me, and now all I could do was feel the hard floor underneath my shoes and hear Morgan screaming, listen to her lashing out at everything around her.

"Colten Jake Hepburn!" Morgan was roaring, her voice as loud as it could go to be heard over the crashes of what I assumed was her tearing the auditorium apart. "Turn the lights back on right now, or I will pull you both apart limb by limb!"

I turned towards where the voice and sounds of destruction were coming from, and I could finally see something - but I think I preferred utter darkness over this horrifying sight. I turned to look behind me, and through the black veil surrounding me, I saw a pair of glowing red eyes, Morgan's scarlet eyes. It would be impossible to describe the complete and utter horror these eyes induced in a single second, even less than a second. They seemed to look right at me as they scanned over the room. I could not hold back my screams of terror as I fell to the ground, attempting to crawl away.

"Quiet!" A male's voice - Colt's voice - hissed at me, and then I felt a hand close around my arm, pulling me back up to my feet and forcing me down the stairs. I immediately understood why he ordered this; I looked up at Morgan's eyes, my own eyes widening as I realized that she was now standing where I had just fallen - where I was screaming. Her eyes were turning every which way, searching for me through the darkness. I was sure that she couldn't see any more than I could, but I also couldn't help but be unnerved. The thought of a psychopath hunting me down, no matter how dark it was, made me want to end myself and get it over with.

On the other hand, what was the point in prolonging the inevitable? I didn't know how much more of this I could take. I hadn't even been here an hour, and I was already contemplating a white flag.

"Whatever you do, don't stop running." I could hear Colt whisper into my ear. "If you're going to have even a single hope of surviving, we have to trust each other, alright? I will lead you through the dark; I can see perfectly fine. So just trust me and do not, under any circumstances, stop running. And do not say a word until we are outside. Nod if you understand."

I took all of his words with heavy weight and nodded slowly, not quite understanding. I mean, how on earth could he see "perfectly fine" when all I can see is a shade of black that I never knew existed before.

"Haaaaannaaaaah!" I heard Morgan call out in a sweet, sing-song voice. She was trying to lure me, but it wouldn't work. Besides, Colt's grip on my arm was a tad bit tight for it to work, anyways. "Where arrrrre youuuu?"

I heard doors push open and almost fell to the floor as someone - I assumed Colt - pushed me through. Then, I heard a loud noise, as if someone had punched through a wall, but more intense. "Gotcha!" I heard Morgan exclaim. I turned around and shot my hands up over my mouth; all I could see in front of me were Morgan's glowing red eyes. Suddenly, red wasn't my favorite colour anymore.

"Nope! Just little ol' me!" I could almost hear Colt's smirk. "Don't just stand there, run, you idiot!"

Without a second thought, I turned back around and began running. I saw a thin light towards the floor, like the crack of light underneath a door. I sprinted towards it as fast as I could and rammed my entire left side into the door. I cried out in pain as my arm collided, thinking that my body had already been through enough stress in the past hour alone. The door pushed open, and I stumbled into the outside world before suddenly being pulled aside, screaming.
