Sixth story: Mystery of an Abyssal Sea Monster

I don't know what this creature is.

It first came before I came to rule. Fishermen began vanishing after heading out to sea, and those who did came back returned with a significantly lower catch than normal. They all returned with tales of a horrific sea monster, one the size of 2 full-grown whales. Nobody believed them-at least, most of my family didn't. I did but they wrote me off because I was a child, and "Children don't know anything". I hated it when people treated me like a fool just because I was young. 
And then, after my idiotic father passed, I began to have people discreetly investigate into these happenings-which were growing worse by the year. Making it obvious would make the loud, angry, stupid minority start yelling and screaming about "wasted resources better used for more important things". I hate this country, but I have responsibilities here. Besides....

I'm going to die soon. It won't matter then-I have no child or successor, but I don't care if this place falls to ruin. It's not my fault, I'd have nothing to do with this hellhole by then.

Back onto the topic again.

I've made a nice little list of the commonly reported features of this monster.

-It tends to attack sneakily, swimming up from the deep and biting the ships around the middle, its massive jaws splitting the craft in two

-It smells like a rotting corpse and looks like one, as well

-It does not roar

-It has fins on its ears, and a sail running down its back. Two horns are on its forehead, with dead, empty eyes constantly staring at the sky. It has two front fins like a seal and the tail of a fish. 

I've also determined that escape is nearly impossible. There have only been 10 recorded survivors of these attacks-around 95 boats have vanished, with 40 having 20 people on them and 55 having 36. Having so little to go off of is quite the hindrance. But, we know more on this thing than we did 12 years ago, when my parents were ruling.

I also have cause to believe that this creature had slain them as well.
They were travelling to Emrilya, and were doing it by boat. The ship vanished, with no survivors. The wreckage was never found, and Emrilya claims to have nothing to do with it (Though, knowing Mari, they very well could.) 

If it was the monster and not Emrilya, that means that the monster has a wide range of where it travels. This means that it's also a danger to that country as well, though I haven't heard much on dissapearing Emrilyan ships-though, this could be due to a combination of them hiding information and also the fact that they rarely send ships out in the first place.

I think I'm going to bring this up at the Continental Meeting tomorrow. I have enough evidence to back up my claims if they ask, and unlike Mari, I'm trustworthy. I'm not insane, I don't kill my own citizens (no matter how much I want to), and I'm not needlessly violent.
