"I don't understand why I need to work on a Saturday, it's Saturday, I need a break", I argued. "Adelaide, you barely even work, and you've called in sick so many times I think if you add up all the times you've actually went to work, it'd only add up to like two months", he sighed. "And you've been working here for almost a year now."

"Calum will help you", Ashton whined. I've been working at Target for almost a year now since I've been saving up to move to Canada or something. I haven't exactly worked the details out, but I wasn't staying in this crummy old town.

"I don't even like Calum." I sighed. "He's annoying and always tries to flirt with me."

"Just give him a chance, he's a nice kid", Ashton protested. "How would you even know? You're always in your office making out with Rosie anyway", I scoffed.

"You're such a lovely girl", Ashton said sarcastically. "Whatever, you're not the boss of me, I'm not coming to work."

He ran a hand through his messy and curly hair. "Technically, I am. If you don't come to work, I'm gonna have to fire you."

I groaned, "Fucking asshole."

I walked out of the break room and straightened my ugly red uniform shirt. I walked behind the cash register and was met with a boy that looked around 17 years old. He had bright red hair and an eyebrow piercing.

To say the least, he looked like a douche.

He kept looking at me, seeming like he was contemplating whether he wanted to talk to me. "Do you even have anything for me to check out for you, or are you purposely just standing there like an idiot?"

He smirked and walked slowly toward me. "I'm guessing you're Adelaide." I rolled my eyes, "Well obviously, I have a name tag right here, dumbass."

He raised an eyebrow at me, which was kind of attractive, but not enough. "No, Ashton has literally cried to me about you. He said you were like one of the most difficult employees here because you're such a bitch", he laughed.

I shrugged, "I know I am and I don't care."

"That's kind of obvious that you don't care. I also know you because you have Maths with me and you threatened to snap Lacey Andersons neck if she didn't shut the hell up. The poor girl ran out of the room crying."

That memory brought a smile back to my face. "I'm just glad I got suspended for a few days. I fucking hate everyone at that school."

"Even me?" He smirked, getting a little bit closer to my face now. "Especially you. Fuck off, dickface." He laughed. I didn't even know his name, or that we had Maths together. "Why are you so sassy?"

I flipped him off and told him to go fuck himself and a lot more other things. "Okay, I get it. But I do like you, you're cool", he said to me.

"Whatever." I didn't pay any more attention to him and started scrolling through my twitter. "Hello", I heard a deep voice behind me. I turned around and saw Calum there, with a huge smirk on his face.

I groaned and turned back around, ignoring him. "What's wrong now? Did I piss you off with my face again?"

I laughed. Calum really was the only one who knew how to get me to laugh, but I still hated him. "Yes", I answered simply. "Why do you hate people so much?"

I rolled my eyes, "Because when you're nice to someone they start to assume your friends and start talking to you a lot and never leave you alone and I don't like that, I hate everyone and I don't like when people bother me for pointless things like this conversation", I snapped.

He chuckled and shook his head at me. "Whatever, I guess you're kind of nice though. You did bring me a band-aid when I cut my finger."

I rolled my eyes, again. "Calum, I didn't want to bring you a band-aid. Ashton forced me to, like I literally was going to get fired if I didn't give you the stupid ass bandage."

I turned away from Calum and started scrolling through twitter again. Luke Hemmings, who was really attractive and somewhat nice, but I still hated was spamming everyone's feed with pictures of his ugly ass girlfriend again.

"Luke's spamming again, huh?"

"Yeah", I replied, getting annoyed with Calum. "I don't know how he puts up with Lacey", Calum started. "She's so annoying, and she's so stupid I swear", he groaned.

I laughed, again. "That's probably the only thing we have in common, Hood. We both think Lacey is a fucking annoying ass twat."

"Luke always gets mad at me for calling her an idiot, but honestly I could care less." I smiled at Calum a little, before being called by Ashton again.

"What?" I snapped. "Why are you always calling me into your office? I'm not doing anything, I'm literally just standing there with Calum."

"You're not in trouble, thankfully you hadn't done anything, yet. But I need you to work full time tomorrow, since you know, you're still suspended from school."

"Oh my god, I hate you and this job", I groaned. "I know", Ashton sighed.

"I know."
