"Get the fuck away, Addison", I snapped as I pushed my older sister away from me. "Seriously? You're still on this 'oh I'm so cool I hate everyone' phase?"

I turned around and glared at her, "It's not a fucking phase you bitch, I really do just hate you." My mom sent me a disapproving look. "Adelaide Marie Smith, watch your damn language", she scolded. "If you can curse, I should be allowed too", I replied, smoothing out my flannel. "And besides, Addison swears, you never say anything about that."

"Yeah, you're 17 years old, she's 25." I rolled my eyes, "Exactly, I'm 17, so I don't understand why I can't swear. What's so bad about it anyway? They're just words."

My mom sighed and waved me off. "I'm going out", I announced, putting my shoes back on. "I won't be home for dinner", I called out.

"You're leaving? Your sister just got here all the way from New York."

I gave her a fake smile, "I really don't care."

-------

"Why are you here? You weren't supposed to get here, until like 3. It's only 12", Ashton asked curiously. "Well maybe I want to come early. Besides, I have nothing better to do. So hand me my fucking shirt and leave me alone."

Ashton sighed and handed me my shirt. I went into the bathroom and slipped it on, shoving my other clothes into my bag. I walked out and tossed my bag on the table.

I went behind the cash register and whipped out my phone. "Excuse me", a deep voice muttered. I thought it was Calum for a second, but then I realized that Calum didn't even have work today.

"What?" I asked, clearly annoyed at the boy. I groaned when I saw who it was, fucking Luke annoying ass Hemmings.

"Do you know where the pink sweatshirts are?"

I almost burst out laughing, but instead I bit my lip. "Pink sweatshirts? You're kidding, right? We don't have a specific place where we only keep pink sweatshirts. This is Target, okay? Find it yourself."

"But-" I glared at him and he furrowed his eyebrows at me. "You're supposed to be helping me. It's your job."

I sighed, this boy is really just pissing me off. "Look, Puke, I'm on cash register duty, not help the clueless blonde boy find the pink sweatshirts duty, okay? I don't even know where they are, to be honest with you. So go ask someone else."

"My name is Luke, not Puke. Why are you so rude, anyway? I'm surprised you haven't gotten fired or expelled from school. You're such a bitch."

I smiled, "Wow, thanks for stating the obvious. And if I'm a bitch, then what do you call your annoying, ugly ass girlfriend?"

"Don't talk like that about her! I just wanted to find the pink swea- you know what? Never mind, I'll go find someone else!" I lazily waved him off as I went back to my phone.

Customers were so goddamm annoying. I don't even know why I took this job, I hate it. "Hey!" I turned to see the boy with the bright red hair at the entrance.

"Is my friend Luke here? I've been looking for him all over", he explained. "Somewhere in the store looking for pink sweaters. He's a really annoying guy, I can't believe you guys are friends", I groaned.

He laughed and went into the clothes section, searching for Luke. "Don't terrorize the customers, Adelaide", Ashton warned. All I hear from that guy is, "don't terrorize the customers", and "Stop complaining, you're being annoying", did he ever just shut the fuck up?

"Could you restock the cds, Adelaide? I'd do it bu-" I smirked, "But you have to go make out with Rosie in your office." He immediately turned red and rushed back into his office.

Rosie was kind of innocent, when she first came here, that was. But when she met Ashton she tried everything to get him to take her virginity away from her, and the second week she was here, I heard moans in the back of the women's bathroom.

Anyway, I hate her, no surprise there. She's a fucking idiot, too.

I took the box of cds and went to the electronics. "I hate everything", I muttered, as I walked past a kid who was crying her eyes out.

I sighed and turned back to the kid. "What's wrong?" I asked, slightly annoyed. "I can't find my mommy", she sobbed. I balanced the box office cds on my hip and wrapped my other arm around the little girl.

"It'll be okay, we'll find your mommy", I said softly.

She cuddled into my side as her crying slowly died down. "Ashton", I knocked on his door. "Ashton!" I said louder. I finally put the box down on their ground, covered them little girls eyes, and flung the door open.

Rosie was nearly naked, straddling Ashton. "There's a lost kid here, think you'll can take time away from this shit and take care of the girl?"

I kept my hands covering the little girls eyes as Rose put her clothes on. "Get your shit together, dude", I teased, as Rosie rushed past me.

"She lost her mom, help her." I put the kid back onto the ground as Ashton knelt by her and asked what her name was. "My name is Kiana", she squeaked.

"Kiana!" I heard a very familiar deep voice call. Puke. "There you are!" He sighed, walking into the office. "Thanks for finding her Ash."

I rolled my eyes. "Actually Adelaide he-" Kiana cut him off when she went over to hug me- well my legs. "Thanks for finding me. You're the nicest person ever! Can you be my sister instead of Lukey?"

I glanced up at Luke, he had a shocked expression on his face. I looked back to Kiana and knelt down so I was eye level with her. "You're welcome", I smiled. "I'd love to be your sister, but I don't think it works that way."

She gave me a proper hug this time, and I wrapped my arms around her tiny body. "Lukey and I are going to visit you every single day", she stated. "I'll cry if Lukey doesn't let me."

I laughed, "Well you don't have to do that." She pouted, "But I want to. And I will."

She suddenly started giggling and I was very confused. "Your eyes are really blue. Just like Lukey's. Maybe you guys should get married", she giggled.

I laughed nervously and guided both Luke and Kiana out of the office. "Well that was fun, thank you for coming to Target, we'll see you soon."

"Thanks", Luke muttered. "Yeah, no problem you dipshit, now leave."

Kiana waved to me until they were out of sight. I sighed and ran my hands through my dark purple hair. It was sort of like a plum color. I did not like my original hair color, it was blonde and I didn't really have a problem with blondes, it's just I thought I looked horrible with it.

"Hey!" The red haired dude chirped. "Hi", I sighed. "Do you dye your hair often?" I asked him, taking a strand of my hair and examining it. He laughed, "Yes, why?"

"Any suggestions of what I should dye my hair?" I asked. He took his bottom lip between his teeth and look at my hair. "I think it'd look good if you dyed it a dark blue."

I nodded. "Thanks."

"No problem, beautiful."
