*March 2nd*
*Third Person POV*The smell of hand sanitizer and constant beeping was the first thing that greeted Arabelle when she woke up. Her whole body felt sore and stiff, causing her to furrow her eyebrows. She hesitantly opened her eyes, the bright lights blinding her as she blinked a couple times. Once she adjusted to the light she looked over, seeing a sleeping Harry next to the bed. She didn't want to wake him, knowing what he went through earlier, but also wanting answers.
She groaned lightly as she reached over and shook his arm gently. It took a few tries but eventually Harry's eyes sleepily opened, widening once he saw that Arabelle was awake. He shot up and grabbed her hand, a concerned look washing over his face.
"Ara." He breathed, relief flooding his chest as he stared into her eyes.
"Hi." She whispered, a warm smile on her face as she looked at the love of her life, happy that she's able to hold him once again.
Neither of them wasted another second as they both leaned in instantaneously, connecting their lips. Love and relief surrounded them as they glided their lips together. Both of their hearts swelling with joy as they realized they survived.
Nothing else seemed to matter as they shared that special moment together. Not the wound in her chest and especially not the tears streaming down both of their cheeks.
They only broke apart when a knock was heard at the door, both of them turning their heads to see a doctor peek her head in. She entered the room fully and shut the door behind her, smiling at Arabelle.
"I see we're finally awake." She said as she pulled out a clipboard, walking over to check her vitals.
"How long has it been?" Arabelle asked curiously, knowing that it had to be a long time.
"About fifteen hours." The doctor replied casually, turning back to face them.
"Oh." Arabelle mumbled, honestly having thought it was longer.
"We had to take you to into emergency surgery, but everything went smoothly and we were lucky enough to get the bullet out in time. We're lucky it didn't hit your heart." She told her, Arabelles eyes widening in surprise at the new information.
The doctor worked in silence as she went around checking her vitals and her wound. She than asked Arabelle questions that made her head spin. But soon after she was done and she left the room to let the love birds have some time to themselves. She told them that she would be back in a while to replace her bandage.
"Where's the rest?" Arabelle asked Harry, just now realizing that no one else was in the room with them. Fear flooded her mind as she started to think that they didn't make it but Harry quickly shot down her fears.
"Everyone's fine. They all went home to shower and get some sleep." He told her, leaning back in his chair as his hand still held hers.
Guilt crept into the back of her mind as she realized that Harry must've stayed here with her. She was thankful of course, but she also didn't want him to be exhausted because of her.
"You should've went home." She told him softly, brushing her thumb against his hand.
Harry furrowed his eyebrows at her words, not liking the idea of her being by herself while she was in the hospital, especially after having surgery.
"Now what kind of boyfriend would I be if I did that?" He asked playfully, a cheeky smile washing over his face.
A laugh escaped Arabelles lips as she fondly shook her head at him. The fact that he stayed for fifteen hours in the hospital while she was unconscious meant the world to her. She really loved him, and it was always nice to know the feelings were reciprocated.
To Harry it was nothing, he would spend a whole year in the hospital waiting for her to wake up if that meant that he could see her smile when she saw him sitting next to her bed. She's all that he ever wants in life and he doesn't care what it takes, he would do anything to be by her side.
Through all the fighting and obstacles, they are glad that they are still standing together today. Though some of it was absolutely heart wrenching to expierence, they know they would do it a thoughsand times over if it meant they could get to this moment.
Because that's what love is; going through hell and back just to be able to be with the other person. No giving up no matter how many people want you to. No matter how many sleepless nights or teary eyes there are, you never stop fighting for that person, because their love means much more than the pain.
That's why Harry was now moving nervously in his seat a few hours later, because he knew he had to do something, but he didn't know the outcome. Arabelle was oblivious to his nervous state, as she talked and laughed along with him.
"Ara I need to tell you something." Harry interrupted her, not being able to contain himself any longer.
"What?" Arabelle asked, a concerned look washing over her face.
"It's nothing bad." He said quickly, sending her a reassuring smile. "It's just, when I accepted the job of kidnapping you, I never expected that I would find love along the way. Our love was so unexpected, but I know I wouldn't want to love anyone else. You are the only one that would ever be worth all of the pain it took to get to where we are today. Your the only one that could ever make me sane, I couldn't picture life without you."
Arabelle gasped as Harry got down on one knee, pulling out a small black box. He opened the box with sweaty palms to reveal a gorgeous diamond ring. Tears streamed down Arabelles faces as Harry looked up at her with teary eyes of his own.
"Your my one true love,my soulmate. Through everything it's always been you, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Will you do the honor of marrying the most beautiful girl in the world. Will you marry me?"
Arabelles heart swelled with nothing but love as she nodded her head frantically, tears streaming down her cheeks as she cupped her hand over her mouth. Ara swore that the grin that was on Harry's face could cure any problem in the world. He stood up and cupped her cheeks in his big hand, pressing his lips to hers.
It wasn't a kiss for the novels or movies, no. They moved messily, their teeth sometimes hitting the other as the taste of their salty tears covered their taste buds. But they both thought it was the best kiss they ever experienced. Every ounce of love and passion that they held for each other was shown in the way they moved their lips together, holding onto each other like they would somehow evaporate.
They both pulled away with bright eyes and wide smiles, Harry sliding the ring onto her finger. Arabelle grinned as she looked down at her hand, it fit perfectly, like it was made for her and her only. It was absolutely beautiful, a sparkling diamond in the middle with a jewel on either side. But deep down Arabelle didn't care what the ring looked like, she only cared that it came from him.
"We made it baby." Harry told her, his eyes sparkling with joy as he laughed with both happiness and disbelief. Disbelief that he is free and still living to love the girl before him. Disbelief that she loves him as well, even with all the horror in the past between them.
"I never doubted you." She told him, a warm smile on her face as she brushed her thumb against his cheek. "Not even for a second."
