Chapter 1

Robinfur sat upright, blinking sleep from his eyes as they adjusted to the dim surroundings of the medicine den. He glanced around, only to find two pairs of eyes gazing back at him from the small cleft in the wall of the other side of the cave. They look familiar...
"Robinfur! you're awake!" Called Parrotflight from the crack in the wall. The russet tom bounded some smaller piles of herbs to sit next to him, burying his muzzle into Robinfur's shoulder, who returned his mate's affection with a brisk lick to his forehead.
"If we're finished with the glorious reunion over there, I'm sure Robinfur would love to know what's going on." laughed the other cat, still at the other end of the den.
"Oh. Right! sorry Featherfoot." Parrotflight called back. Featherfoot... other medicine cats... The Moonpool! Shadowclan!!
"I have to speak with Glowingstar. Now."
"Why?" The other two asked in unison, looking up from the herbs.
"No time to explain. How long have I been out?" If Robinfur and Featherfoot weren't confused before, they certainly looked it now.
"Two days." Robinfur replied after what felt like an eternity. "But maybe you should rest longer? I can go get Glowingstar if you want."
"No. You'll take too long. I need to do this myself." And without a second thought, Robinfur shot out of his nest and into the main clearing, ignoring the searing pain drumming through his leg, in time with each awkward step. Veering towards the Highledge, he made a beeline for the rockfall leading up to the higher part of the stone hollow. "Glowingstar! I need to talk to you!" he Shrieked, starting the difficult scramble up to the cave that is the Leader's den. All of a sudden, the rocks underneath his hind paws slipped, sending the wiry tom tumbling towards the rocky ground below, his injured leg flailing uselessly beside him.
