"So, did you have anything in mind for your project, princess?" Varian asked as they made their way into the castle. Sofia answered that she was thinking either a double rainbow or pixie dust. "Wait, pixie dust? Doesn't that, you know, only come from pixies and isn't made?" Varian pointed out. Sofia replied how if they can make dragon fire that only comes from dragons, why not pixie dust? "Fair point, but no one has ever discovered how. I'm positive there isn't one book that explains how to make it," the alchemist told the princess.

"Then that means we'll have to make it ourselves!" Sofia cheered with no doubt in her mind.

"Like an experiment!? Alright! I'm in!" Varian exclaimed, making Sofia giggle. The first thing they had to do was find out what ingredients to use. Sofia pulled out a book with a list of magical ingredients and began flipping through. Varian read the title and explained to the princess, "I don't believe in magic."

Sofia looked up and gasped

Sofia looked up and gasped. How could he not believe in magic? It was one of the greatest blessing in this world for her. Everything seemed magical. "Well, then what DO you believe?" Sofia questioned.

Varian told her how everything has a scientific reasoning. "I mean, sure it seems magical, but it wouldn't be there without science! Everything falls back to science," he concluded.

"Everything?"

"Everything!"

Sofia became curious and would list off things that she found magical and Varian would give an explanation on why it was scientific. She was quite impressed! "So, since we're working on pixie dust, what do you think would be included in that?" Sofia wondered. However, Varian didn't seem to know. As said before, no one has found what makes pixie dust before.

They went on to test their different theories of what could create pixie dust. After several failures, Varian began to give up. Suddenly, he heard Sofia go, "I wish we could go to Pixie Hollow. We could probably find the answer there!"

"Pixie ... Hollow?" Varian inquisitively replied.

"Oh! I've read in a book on The Mystic Isles that fairies are born from laughter and live in Pixie Hollow! That's where they find out what type of fairy they are. Like, my friend Chrysta is a crystal fairy!" Sofia explained. "But I have no idea where it's located..." she sighed. Varian suggested for them to have a look at the book. "Good idea! I'll summon some unicorns for us!" Sofia declared.

"Unicorns?" Varian gasped. "You... You've actually seen a unicorn before!?" he cried.

"Several, actually. C'mon! They're probably already waiting for us outside," Sofia said, pulling Varian out the castle. There stood Skye with another unicorn waiting for them. Skye bowed to his princess then greeted Varian.

Not exactly knowing how to react, the alchemist awkwardly responded with random stuttering and a dropped jaw. Sofia introduced them to each other as Varian mounted the other unicorn. Skye then whispered, "Tis a weird one you've chosen to bring along with you today, my princess..." All Sofia could do was giggle. Yes, Varian was weird, but that was what made him kind of fun!
