Sofia the First - The Alchemist

Pixie Hollow

On the way up to the Mystic Isles, Sofia's hair flew in the breeze as she enjoyed the ride. However, Varian was holding onto to his unicorn's neck with all his might and screamed in fear. Landing in the Isles, Sofia mounted off of Skye and thanked him. She turned to see Varian with his eyes closed and still grasping onto his unicorn repeatedly going, "Tell me when it's over! Tell me when it's over!"

"It's over now..." Sofia stated. Varian opened his eyes and gave a sigh of relief as he mounted off of his unicorn. Varian asked where they were off to now and Sofia answered, "The Isle of Protectors!" So the two walked, passing different isles along the way, each isle surprising Varian more and more. He started to believe this was all a dream. Once they reach the Isle of Protectors, they greeted Sofia and asked who she brought along. "He's my new friend! Go ahead and introduce yourself," she replied, nudging Varian.

However, not one word came out of Varian's mouth. He just stood gazing at all the protectors. Each of them were creatures of which he never thought would be real. "Amazingly spellbinding!" Varian cried.

The protectors just stared at the boy, very confused until Sofia finally went, "This is Varian. He's helping me with my alchemy project. We're planning to make pixie dust, so I remembered the book I read here on Pixie Hollow and wondered if I could look at it again." Vega nodded and told her it was in their library, two doors down on the left. "Thank you!" Sofia replied. "Let's go!" she finished, grabbing Varian's arm and pulled him along. While being pulled, Varian still couldn't keep his eyes off of the protectors.

In the library, Sofia tried to remember where the book was located. "That's a LOT of books!" Varian said. Sofia explained how they had a book for every creature as well as one for each variety of a certain species (like crystal fairies or garden fairies). She continued on how it helps them learn and know about each creature in order to understand them and help protect them better. "Wow, does that mean there's a book about ME in here somewhere?" Varian questioned.

"Probably not, you would just fall under the category of the human species," Sofia answered. She continued to browse the shelves until she finally went, "Aha! Found it!" and pulled the Pixie Hollow book out from its shelf. She and Varian flipped through the pages. It had several details on what Pixie Hollow looked like as well as each type of fairy, but nothing explained where it was located.

"You're lookin' to go to Pixie Hollow, eh princess?" a voice said behind them. They turned to find Chrysta leaning against the entrance. "I can help with that!" she finished.

"Chrysta!" Sofia cheered.

"And who's this boy you got with you? Wait, don't tell me... It's your new boyfriend, isn't it?" Chrysta smirked.

"WHAT!?" Sofia and Varian cried in unison. Both of their eyes widen as they awkwardly glanced at each other, feeling very uncomfortable. Sofia tried to explain how Chrysta had the wrong idea and that Varian was just her friend.

Chrysta came up beside Varian going, "Oh, stuck in the friendzone, eh kid? Tough place to be. Maybe one day you can convince her!" Varian just turned red and scratched the back of his head. "Well, looks like it's time to head out! Follow me!" Chrysta declared, flying out the door with Sofia eagerly chasing after.

"Ok... THAT was WEIRD!" Varian said to himself before following the girls.

As the group once again began to fly, Chrysta stated how the usual directions were always second star to the right, and straight on till morning. So they continued until the finally reached a large island. Chrysta then added that Pixie Hollow was in the heart of the island. They eventually found in the center of the island, an area divided into the four seasons with a large tree in the middle. "This is just like in the book!" Sofia cried. They saw the large tree made some sort of fountain with pixie dust.

A fairy with a long gold dress greeted them and mentioned how much Chrysta had grown. Sofia and Chrysta then bowed and Varian confusingly whispered, "Why are we bowing?" Sofia replied how the book said she was the queen of the fairies, making Varian gasp and quickly bow as well.

"Hello, Queen Clarion. This is Protector-in-Training Sofia. She's here to learn about pixie dust," Chrysta explained. Varian then offendedly added that he was too. "Oh yeah, and there's that kid. I forgot his name," she added. To this, Varian squinted, slouched, and grunted.

Queen Clarion gave them an insight on how they maintain and keep the dust, as well as how they use it. "May I take a small sample?" Sofia asked. Queen Clarion gave a simple nod as one of the dust keeping fairies gave Sofia one of their stored packages. "Thank you, your majesty," Sofia said with a curtsy. Queen Clarion asked if there were any other questions or anything else they needed.

"I think that's all. Thanks, again!" Chrysta answered as she and the others waved and began to fly back home.
