Into the New World

Day 2 - [Part One]

"Xu Kai we can't stay in this apartment forever you know! We have to go out there to search for any possible survivor like us or at least search for a safer place than this." Xiao Zhan softly said as he stirred the soup he's cooking for both of them. Yesterday was a bit too much for them. Right when they were about to reach their apartment a horde suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The sight of those walkers was disgusting. Some of them have large wounds, probably bite wounds on them. Some even have their arms dangling, while the others are either limping or dragging their legs.

The most disgusting sight out of all was one walker who has one eye dangling out if it's socket, jaw broken, tongue out, and a few ribs were jutting out of its chest. The face was covered in weird looking bubble like things. It was a disgusting sight that Xiao Zhan immediately vomited at the sight of it. Good thing they hid behind some abandoned cars but that wasn't enough as two walkers noticed them from behind. And since Xiao Zhan was vomiting and making noise it attracted the walkers.

So they didn't really have a choice but to fight the walkers including the horde which was already making their way to where Xiao Zhan and Xu Kai are. Xiao Zhan was actually proud of himself for killing more than what he was used to. He managed to kill ten walkers while Xu Kai finished the rest with his quick moves and powerful hits. And since the fighting wasn't really that quiet it also attracted a few walkers within the area making it a bit challenging for both of them. It took them a while before they finally reached their apartment.

"I'm actually planning on that. But we need a car for us to quickly escape this place. Also we have to have a lot of extra foods and more protective gears. We can't just go out there when we don't even know what's the condition of the other cities. So I'm looking for a quick way for us to get out of this city and while I do that you should find some large containers where we can store gasoline in it. And also clean water for us to drink." After taking two bowls and filling it with soup, Xiao Zhan took a sit beside Xu Kai who's busy looking at a map of the city they are in.

The both of them ate silently, only talking when they asked something to each other. After eating Xiao Zhan left Xu Kai to look for large containers which he gladly found in the basement. 5 large containers lay at the side of the dark, musty, and full of dust basement. After placing the 5 containers near the stairs Xiao Zhan began looking around for anything that can be useful. He found a large box full of arrows and two bows was beside it. He collected those and put it beside the containers before looking around again.

When Xiao Zhan was done he carried all the stuff he found back to where Xu Kai is. Aside from the 5 containers, box full of arrows and 2 bows, Xiao Zhan also found a real samurai sword. He guessed that the original owner of the apartment they're living in left the sword or had forgotten about it along with the arrows and bows. It was actually a good thing too, since a bow is pretty helpful and you won't have to engage in a fight with a walker and instead just shoot at it. That is if you're great at shooting. Luckily Xiao Zhan is trained in using a bow so he has no problem with using it.

"Where did you find all this? Why's there a samurai sword, bows and arrows?" Xu Kai asked as he eyed the things Xiao Zhan brought to him. He didn't really think that Xiao Zhan would find 5 large containers like he had said since he thought that there's really nothing much useful in their apartment.

"I found all this in the basement. I never even wanted to go down there but luckily I did if not it would've been a waste for this weapons too. So now that we have containers, more weapons what's next? Are we going to head out again to look for food?" Xiao Zhan softly asked as he fiddled with his fingers. Even though he doesn't like fighting walkers he still likes the feeling. The adrenaline rushing through your body, the excitement, the thrill you feel whenever you encounter these things. Also the fear that slowly disappears as you fight.
